What would happen to the CFL rules (3 or 4 downs) if they merge with the XFL? Everything else besides the rouge and the number of players on the field is pretty similar.
What are Canadians opinions of playing 3 down versus 4 down football?

A 2021 season, I mean.

I think it will happen if both compromise. It’s about money and getting a higher tv deal and filling the seats. Big Canadian cities are in low attendance for the CFL. Montreal Toronto BC Ottawa better step up and find fans.
Watched many a CFL and one of their slogans was, this is our game. They would be hypocritical to change the league but they are a business that can improve the bottom line.
Nothing is ever in the bank until it is in the bank

I'm with spottie on this one , but i don't think it will happen for a couple years , they have a short season this year and will be up against the nfl , so the ? is will they play again in the spring of 22 (may) I don't know when the usfl starts? I would keep the 3 plays but there are a couple things i liked in the AAF or XFL , but like spottie said $$$ talks. I like watching CFL and there's some good guy's in this form. How you doing spottie?

Well, it actually is happening....2021 season to start in August.
If the CFL wants to survive I think they should give a merger a trial....the television rights are what makes the bucks nowadays and Canadian teams playing American teams would be a draw, at least on par with baseball. A spring league to avoid direct competition with the NFL is what I see in the future.
There will be angst if the CFL plays American rules football, which is the only way an American spring league would agree to merge, unless they did something similar to baseball with its DH, where the home team gets their rules.
The season is only 2 months away. I've seen nothing on the Schooners so evidently that idea is being put on the backburner.

It would be easily the best move the CFL ever made to have a CFL football franchise in the area.
When a place has a younger brother/country cousin self-image, those people show up in droves to support their only major league team. It becomes a happening.
Witness the Oklahoma City Thunder, or the Portland Trailblazers, they have the best fans in the NBA and sell out every game. In Australia it's Tasmania...they sell out the games when Aussie Rules teams play in their state despite not having a team to call their own, and they could triple the amount of fans if they had a bigger stadium. People would travel from all over to the Atlantic area to go to a game, and out of state ....they'd sell out.
It should happen, hopefully s(ch)ooner, rather than later....wink.
