so is it fair to say argos +4 should of been the right play?
I wouldn't go that far -- Montreal was up 20-10 at half and was dominating time of possession 2:1
After the half, Montreal continued to dominate time of possession but had 1 mishap on defense. Blown zone coverage left some slow white guy wide open on the right side of the field, and you know one of the Al's secondary would have caught him had they been within 20 yards.
At that point the game was within reach for Toronto.
Montreal didn't seem phased but the score did spark the Argo's defense. They held the Al's to a few two and outs which gave their offense some breathing room.
Argo's offense was moving the ball up the field fairly a few yards at a time but it was sufficient enough to keep them in the game but then they decided to turn the ball over repeatedly. Lack of focus, I mean you guys are paid to hold on to the ball, so hold on to it.
Had they not had the turnovers in the second half they may have been within covering even without that last play mishap.
That last play was hilarious in my opinion and Toronto's offensive coordinator needs to reconsider his play calls within the 1 yard line. Keep trying to punch it up the middle, you have 3 chances. As soon as they tried some out of the normal play they fucked it up and all of a sudden Montreal's taking it the other way to the house.
All in all, I'm sure glad that play happened and I would not say Toronto +10.5 or whichever line you got 'was the play'. The game probably should have been a 35 point blowout for the Al's but Calvillo made too many poor 3-6 yard passes to his receivers.
Best of luck tomorrow!
