Interesting Spottie about your take,...I am not there, but looking at things from afar, it saddens me what is going on in my country. Getting into politics and religion is a sure-fire way to start an argument, so I'll refrain, but what is going on with violence, politics, and financial/banking systems both in the U.S. and abroad is reaching a terminal point and from my study of finances and fiat monetary systems of countries, it could get worse, much worse. Countries are in so deep to their bankers, they're never going to get out.
Also, interesting about your take on Vegas, as I surmise that you're saying that it'll rely less on gaming in general and especially those gambling games that have swings in their profitability, for example sports betting, blackjack and roulette. Poker games and one armed bandits would be pretty consistent I would guess. There used to be bookies in Vegas that were not affiliated with the hotels, perhaps it'll go back to that.
I had a chance to go pro (as a gambler) as one year I made enough money to do it for the rest of my life. I took 6,000 dollars and made an amount I won't mention by doing blitzkrieg betting, I made 150 bets that football season and won 90 of them, (so my percentage was not outrageous, but I hit all of my huge bets).....I will say by the end of the football season I made two college bowl bets for 20,000 a piece and won them both. When the time came to play prevent defense and protect my bankroll, I didn't do it, and I lost it.....very painful lesson.
That was the time when there was a offshore sportsbook, AcesGold which I was using that offered Vig free betting 100 dollars bet to win 100 dollars for one night during the week WITH NO LIMITS, I think it was Friday nights, so it was like a Pinnacle on steroids and of course if you were semi-intelligent and not afraid of the risk of being stiffed, that is who you used.
That year I entered an online betting contest before the Superbook contest allowed proxies and won it going 44-21 on pro football,...was worth just 5,000 in compared to what the Superbook contest pays out nowadays it was peanuts.
A couple of years after I had my big year I heard that the owner of AcesGold was offering vig-free betting on the Super Bowl when New England was 14 point underdogs to the greatest show on turf, the Rams. He took in a ton of action on the Patriots, more than 14 million more than he took on the Rams, and didn't lay off and you know the rest of the story, New England upset them....and the guy disappeared without paying anyone. I never heard if anyone ever tracked him down (and gave him some concrete shoes) and AcesGold was no more,...but not before I got all of my money from them.
