What I witnessed yesterday...

The reffing to end the game was inexcusable. The league should be embarrassed by the way that was handled...

Ottawa kicks a fg to end the first half. The clock is running and Ottawa kicks it with 19 on the play clock. This leaves 22 seconds for Saskatchewan to  get into FG prior to the end of the half. Some of these coaches are brain dead.. You kick the FG with 2 seconds left on play clock leaving Sask with 1 play (which would be a QB knee). 

I've noticed the reffing this year and the lack of awareness of the coaches makes some games very hard to watch. Not to mention the "command centre" looks like someones basement. Guys in flip flops staring at a few screens with Wendy's garbage on the desk. I love the CFL and will be watching the Elks get their second win of the season Sunday, but my goodness some of the stuff taking place in the CFL gives it the bad rap it has. 

Am I out to lunch?

Been watching the CFL for years - always had a tyke feel to it - didn't mean we didn't enjoy it... but man has it fallen.

Everything from the:

-presentation (pre game, cut scenes - routinely go to commercial when a penalty / game changing play is happening) 

-commentary (comical)

-stadium atmosphere (what are they 20-50% full)

-referring (everything about it - old, slow, outta shape, outta touch, females... at least they don't call penalties on 80% of plays like that one year)

-quality of play 

-QB play - check downs, no deep balls

-I still don't understand the play clock and neither do the coaches 

I have no idea how they afford to pay some of the QBs $500,000. Followed the league for 20 years - this is the worst shape and I feel once the tv deal with TSN runs out, it's over... because TSN ain't putting anything into it
