Many posts lately have been critical, if not rude, towards others. Board infighting neither interests me nor provides
any value. With the data Covers offers, one would expect posters would use this information to actually support their "bets".
Nope, There are contributors, with tens of thousands of submissions containing zero analysis. Zone, man to man, press are apparently, not important, or more likely they have no clue.
These same ubiquitous contributors often invite tags to quell their urge for notoriety such as HUGE, POY, LOCK etc. These players are all losers. Ignore them they will go away.
Lastly, one and done March basketball is a game of matchups, high pressure quick turnarounds. Coaches, at least the good ones, (there are few bad ones) incorporate game strategies, of which none are mentioned in 99% of posts, yet are vital in handicapping.
Given the extreme data this site offers, one would think the handicappers would use it.

I do not think analysis or capping makes any difference in today's world. It would be better to look into the referees and see what has happened in past games they have ref'ed in. Money today has infiltrated every aspect of the game to refs to players themselves. You can take all the stats you want, doesn't change the game where as money is the one all mighty factor that makes the difference. The refs control the games. They can make it fast or slow, control the points by fouls that we have all seen.
The bottom line is you have to pick the side that the Gods above ( pun because I do not think any of them Gods, but they think they are) want to take in all the money. Capping a game is just a lot of waste of time and energy now a days. Money is the root of all evil, yet it makes the world go around.

@LVTruck Quickly, Tennessee should be solidly favored over Creighton, instead its two and a tick. Vols can guard on the perimeter and have an advantage on the glass with better athletes and more of them. Lottery pick who lets the game come to him, VERY solid point guard and a team sitting on a big effort.
Vegas knows all this....and yet the line is still low. Bluejays have shooters and height.....something most teams don't have. Also, Rick Barnes is a turd and rarely wins big games when teams are evenly matched.....

So very true, my 45 years doing this, i agree with everything you said. You can study all the stats you want, but they mean nothing if refs and players are gambling every day. Secondly do handicappers really think they are gonna find stats on games that the oddsmakers dont already have and know? And especially with todays computers? No chance in hell. Personally i just like to fade the cappers who think they can cap games better then the oddsmakers, especially when they use the word lock in their pick.

Effing WOW! Pjlvio and cd329.... Both of your submissions are lacking in logic, sophomoric in substance, and to be blunt, bullcrap. Finding no rational reason to offer more. Train.... 50,000 posts and you arbitrarily conclude "Vegas Knows". They do not know schit dude. They simply attempt to balance the game. Not going to bore the good cappers here with how lines are created; a very simple, yet refined process. As for Tennessee, they are loaded, no holes, some shortcomings, tho minimal and infrequent. Yet to play their best game. Lastly, calling Rick a "turd" is puerile.
Yep, linemakers are a buncha morons. Should be Tenn -23 with HOF and GOAT Coach Barnes at the helm. I have many photos of him holding the trophies from all his titles when he coached Texas....

Prior to the Internet -my analysis was simply doing the opposite of most people did - basically watch the line and do accordingly. With Gore creating the internet:) I started looking at data, then learning and collecting data that i beleive was important to the cause and effect of whether a team covers or not. It became an evolutionary process of what I looked at exactly. I can say having rationale for why your taking team A vice Team B gives you a higher level of confidence in your picks. It is a constant process improvement, it takes a lot of effort and time.
I'm like you I want to know the thought process behind a posters pick, thus why I post my rationale whenever I post because it's hard to ask others to post their reasons if you don't do it yourself.
Your post sounds like your angry - I would simply chill as it can affect your well being.
I would say Covers provides some good stat info. but there are other websites out there - statfox.com for home and away data for CBB is important especially with March Madness as the play on neutral courts.
If your post encourages anyone to provide their rationale - I think you have made a difference but don't get angry over it - not worth it. BOL luck to you and all.
