Purdue has played above expectations early in the season as they have lots of new faces surrounding a very familiar one Robbie Hummel, who was coming off another season lost two injury and two surgeries. Yet head coach Matt Painter has gotten his kids to play his style and now they find themselves in the finals of the San Juan Tip Off Classic.
While that was all cream and pies Purdue talk let's break down this game and look at why this team has little to no chance of beating Alabama today in the finals.
Purdue has not been able to make up for the loss of talent from the last two season's and that has especially been apparent on the defensive end of the floor. They had to expend a ton of energy in beating Iona 91-90 in a track meet and found themselves in yet another up and down track meet with Temple yesterday and outlasted a Temple team without it's best player Scootie Randall 85-77. After expending all that energy to win those two games they will face the most ferocious, most dominating defense there is in college basketball right now in Anthony Grant's Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama has held three of their first four opponents under 60 points and two of those to 44 points or less in jumping out to this 4-0 start and easily reaching the finals. Tony Mitchell and Jamychal Green are one of the best forward combinations in the nation and their length on defense is bothersome.
Purdue's lack of experience will be their ultimate downfall here as this tenacious Crimson Tide defense will force turnovers and turn them into offensive points. Look for an easy double digit cover from the Tide Sunday.

Great post with 8 minutes left in the game. WTF is the point of this post anyway?
