64 is the perfect # of teams, and nobody can convince me otherwise... 32 and 48 was too few on the other hand, but I believe that they have found the "sweet-spot" regarding the number of schools who get to "dance" fwiw...

I agree & disagree. I'm all for rewarding a team for a good season, but the main reason there are so many more teams claiming D1 status now is money............your 80 team scenario is about as far as I'd like to see it go...........but even then it starts taking on the "special olympics" feel where everybody gets a ribbon.

Take for example last year. You could expand the tournament to 500 teams and noone would of beat North Carolina. We all know the reason they are expanding it is just greed. It is not so George Mason has a chance to make it to the final four again. Give me a break. If you believe that you are living in the clouds.
