Interested on your take of wining the Natty this year. Starting to watch more college ball last few weeks. My top 5, in terms of defense, offense, senior guard leadership, & coaching.
1. Houston +600…solid team all around..only downside imo is coaching…I’m concerned Sampson & his son leading them to a Natty. Plus, they’re not a team to put up a ton of points. Being down double digits in the tourney will be an obstacle.
2. Arizona +1000…talented all around, especially the 1,4,&5 spot. Can see Lloyd get a championship b4 Few.
3. Kansas +1500…B2B championships? Smaller team, but they can contend w/ anyone. Defense wins championships, and they definitely have it.
4. Virginia +3000…Veteran team, with one of the best coaches all around. Again, not a team to play from behind.
5. Purdue +1000…deep bench, guard and center play are outstanding. Painter is due, and I can see him get it with this team. Only drawback is they’re young guards, and Edey is still a little soft….rely way too much on him. Putting someone physical & athletic on him could slow them down.
Sneaky good list that could make my top 5…Indiana, Creighton, & UCLA…and maybe Gonzaga? No real dominating team, so couple upsets may clear the road for them.

theyve shown signs of greatness followed by games where you're left scratching your head as to how they lost. I still love the value of it but will also come down to coaching and Barnes is a known choker

I have a small future on TN at +4000

They’re too inconsistent, and yes Barnes is a cupcake when it comes to prime time games…. Steamroll sub .500 teams, & then play sketchy against mid P12 schools (Buffs & Trojans).

I already have UCLA. Kansas & Houston. There are at least 15 teams that can go to the Final Four. This would have been the year for Gonzaga, but they are awful defensively. It’s tough to see them winning because of that.

I am always a proponent of guys staying longer in college to get more experience before making the jump to the league. so many times we see a very talented one and done player that fizzles out and you never hear from him again. that said, I think Timme 100% missed his window to go high in the draft and earn some real money. he didn't himself and his wallet a disservice by coming back to Gonzaga

Like your list but I would definitely take Arizona out of top 5.they don’t have the heart and their guards are not consistent enough to win it all.if their guards bring it they can possibly win it.I love my squad but don’t think their gaurd play gets it done in march.I have futures on Ucla,Tennessee, bama and Arizona.keep up the good work Bags

Marquette? Interesting pick…#1KP offense, they’re fast, and guards are physical. Props to Shaka for rebuilding this team. Downside is small front court. Put some meat against them in the paint and slow dow the tempo, and they may runs into problems…ie, loss to Purdue, Miss State, Wisconsin.

Watched St Mary play and I don’t see how they’re #4 as defensive team in KP. Guards are physical and forwards have length, but I’ve seen much more physical teams…LY vs UCLA I think? Do see them win their conference vs a very soft Zags team.

Interesting take on Zona. I see that though. Tubelis is where I see no heart… impact player but can get owned by a good defender. Saw some of that vs Houston LY.

Without there being a dominant team in college hoops this year, we have more value than normal in longshots to win the title. Imo, 50-ish teams right now have a legit shot to make a 6-game tourney run. Taking a Houston at 6 to 1 is very -ev, versus a bunch of small darts in the 40-100 range you could place at the same total price. Like a Creighton, Kansas St. Michigan St, etc.

Nice timing. I posted this earlier today.

Final 4 is also in Htown this year! I had Rob Gray ask Kelvin Sampson who the best team they’ve faced this year and believe it or not Coach Sampson told him KENT ST! They might be a good long shot a dollar on.
