Purdue (7-1, 1-0 away) @ Valparaiso (6-2, 2-0 Horizon)

Purdue is coming off two solid defensive performances, winning in Blacksburg in OT behind a dominant performance by JaJuan Johnson and a 19 point blowout win vs. Alabama on Saturday.  The defense in both of these games have been on par, holding VT to 55 in a OT game and 47 to Alabama.  Valpo comes in on a 4 game win streak, all on the road as well.  This is their first home game in about a month so the place should be rocking.

Purdue offensively is still a mystery.  Besides Moore and Johnson, no one else has stepped up to be a consistent role player behind the big two.  For a third straight game Purdue was held under 40% shooting.  

Two HUGE points to note out:  Reserve/Starter G John Hart is out at least a month with a broken foot, and he is a guy who has played well offensively at times and is a solid defender.  Also, Starter/Reserve F DJ Byrd injured his shoulder against Alabama and will miss this game.  He is a F who can drain the 3 and helps extend the defense to give Johnson more one-on-one opportunities, and in addition is one of Purdue's best defenders.

Missing these 2 pieces is crucial, and Painter will have to look to some new faces who haven't got much playing time to step up.  I do not like this spot for Purdue.  A in-state team playing at home against a Purdue team who has some injuries and are still not shooting consistently as a team.  Valpo is hot and are a very balanced team, with 4 players averaging DD in points, and their opponents have averaged just 61 ppg on 38% shooting.

It's clear to me that the under is the play here.  I expect a low scoring game by both teams, and unless Valpo just cannot stop Johnson AND Moore, then they have a legit shot to win this game.  Nervous game for my Boilers, but my plays are:

PURDUE/VALPO UNDER 128 (2U)
VALPO +8 (1U)

nice run last couple days man congrats.....if you are human this is the point typically where a couple losses come.....i bet you have another great night tonight and then tomorrow if you fade your own plays have another winning night

you even notice those epic runs like yours 16-3 are usually followed with a little losing streak?

I donno I just remember in the MLB playoffs i think i started 22-6 and then lost and finished 26-12...going 4-6 L10

BOL to all but just for the record no he said she said would ever get me to change my picks or cancel a wager. Never has never well. I don't stay up all night studying these types of angles to get selections to have someones else's say so determines my outcome of thoughts. That being said every one of these comments is more than acceptable.

I will take a pick with Odds over You anyday? I believe we are entitled to tail anyone we choose...Odds is very consistent and Makes alot of sense. His write ups has great info, yours has BASIC info.....  BOL today tho......

I came real close to making a wager on James Madison but just couldn't justify it. I think 6 to 7 pt may be needed...

no doubt, luckily line movement rarely effects my ncaabb wagers, just try to know what is gonna happen before hand as catching the best number is half the battle (playing the right side helps as well but if you continually beat the closing number i certainly think it is worth something over time)....

like i said you have one of a handful of threads i try and visit everyday as i enjoy reading your thoughts on games....GL and continued success moving forward...

Well said my friend anyone who lets the line movement determine where their money is being placed is not trusting their reads on a game. Sometimes we will get help from the books and sometimes the books are going to beat us to moving the spread out of our favor. It's all just part of the business that it is.
