Bells and whistles on the new format to cement the permanent move. You
still don't address the waste of space argument. Old format holds a lot
more threads than the new format per page. It's time consuming to read
all threads that are "current" when you have to keep changing page
numbers to see them all. What could fit on one and a half pages on the
old format will probably be spread out over three to five pages in the

While they are making changes, can I suggest an ignore/block button to give users the option of not seeing the Covers cockroaches that run rampant in here.

They already ruined the matchups page .. if they delete this style forum i for one will be done with the covers.com website and yes it is all about money .. can anyone recommend other decent sports betting forums? i have heard of RX forum but never tried it .. thoughts?

GL with trying to change their minds. Its already been decided and won't change anything. Better is usually worse. They are doing it at my workplace and been going on since december...but what I'm really saying is its going to happen....the decision is made.

They make $ sure, they also provide the service free to us, and provide additional value in terms of policing the site, marketing, killing spam bots etc... This is a symbiotic relationship. And full stop, maintaining two versions of a site is a waste of resources, dupllicative, and expensive... full-stop... Nearly all software and web companies simply force all users to move to latest versions after a short test phase. With one unified version, perhaps they save a bit of coin, but also perhaps it's easier to role out future updates/innovation...
Personally, I only use the the 'new' version as it is modern and a better user experience on mobile devices, also far easier to scroll... Although I will also say, it still has bugs/glitches that they have not fixed...
Instead of just saying 'they make enough money from us, keep the old site' - how about being more constructive and have points for covers and the community to consider and hold more substantive debate...

There is nothing more substantive to understand than they could have kept the old format style and either updated it or rolled out a version that could have been updated....

Do not underestimate the amount of money they make on this site...literally one of the oldest and biggest sports sites on the internet...they could have done this any way they wanted to but they chose to roll out a new product that is chock full of bugs and glitches which have NOT been fixed for literally years...
They had no choice but to keep the old system up with it because they did not have a good new product and STILL don't even now as they want to do away with the solid old system...
What Covers needs to understand is that they WILL lose members over this terrible mistake...and they have known this for a long time...for whatever bad reason they are choosing NOW to make this move when their newer product is still a train wreck...still unfinished after all the years it has been around...

I asked about the search feature many times. The line was always "I'll pass it on to the IT guys" or, "we're working on it". Later, I got a message saying the search feature was working but only in the new version. Is it working now? Don't know, never tried, never will find out unless someone answers the question. Don't like the new version so I won't explore it.
