They make $ sure, they also provide the service free to us, and provide additional value in terms of policing the site, marketing, killing spam bots etc... This is a symbiotic relationship. And full stop, maintaining two versions of a site is a waste of resources, dupllicative, and expensive... full-stop... Nearly all software and web companies simply force all users to move to latest versions after a short test phase. With one unified version, perhaps they save a bit of coin, but also perhaps it's easier to role out future updates/innovation...
Personally, I only use the the 'new' version as it is modern and a better user experience on mobile devices, also far easier to scroll... Although I will also say, it still has bugs/glitches that they have not fixed...
Instead of just saying 'they make enough money from us, keep the old site' - how about being more constructive and have points for covers and the community to consider and hold more substantive debate...
I cannot believe they have maintained two versions for so long...

They must fix bugs... and as long as they keep the new version, I’m completely indifferent about old version still being live. I just nearly never see two separate versions of software/websites live for such long lengths of time - it stymies future innovation, these are just facts

To add- Unless they actually SEE a loss of membership Smack, I don't think they believe it will happen

They have been talking about fixing "bugs" for far too long titus without it happening. The search feature for one. Excuse after excuse after excuse. Plus other stuff.
Sorry, cannot agree with your opinion
