What am I missing here, guys? Anyone knows or follows RI?
They were banged up when they lost to UMass two games ago. Only guy questionable tonite is Kuran Iverson 10ppg and 7rpg. He's been battling a concussion and had missed last three games.

Those are the Vegas power ratings. They pull their numbers directly from KenPom.com.
Their numbers often differ quite a bit from the poll numbers you see on ESPN.
It's an excellent resource and one everyone should use.
Jfen, curious on your thoughts on this one bud? You perfectly nailed your lean the other night. Seeing a lot of love for Dayton (rightfully so). Wish you would post your thoughts more

Their numbers are typically very close. They use similar methodology, but I don't know the specifics of where they differ.
I understand this makes me a di*k, but I'm exhausted from reading here (and elsewhere) that lines are "traps."
This game tonight is an excellent example of how Vegas/KenPom/Sagarin use an entirely different set of criteria than what the public is fed by ESPN and other media. In other words, when someone says "Dayton is ranked 19th," well, OK, yes, they'e ranked 19th in the media polls. But Vegas doesn't view them as the 19th ranked team. Rather, they're somewhere between #35 and #40. Rhode Island is somewhere around #75-#80.
Tonight's line is Dayton -1.5/-2. On a neutral floor, this line would be Dayton -5.5/-6. Would anyone find that to be a "trap" line? I doubt it.
If the game was in Dayton, the line would be -9.5/-10. Would the masses be screaming about a "trap" line? Again, no.
Let's play a game:
Is this a trap?
Rhode Island vs. Dayton (neutral floor)
Line: Dayton -6
Is this a trap?
Rhode Island @ Dayton
Line: Dayton -10
Is this a trap?
Dayton @ Rhode Island?
Line: Dayton -2

Dude at top of Survivor board (18) has Dayton tonight, but all but his very first pick has been NBA, good luck to him. Risky play , I'm leaning RI though. As mentioned, ranked road faves have had difficulty and Dayton will have their hands full tonight.
