I've been 5 times before, but its been 3 years. I will be out there the week of opening round of the NCAA Tournament. I'm expecting the Books to be HOPPING!
I know the Venetian has a remodeled book, that is where we are staying (Palazzo). What are your thoughts on this one?

LVH (Hard to not call it the Hilton) Superbook is def the best as far as having odds for everything CBB ML's, Halftimes. etc that many other books don't . Can't go wrong with Palazzo as far as being nice/upscale place to watch games.

Been during opening round of NCAA 3 of last 4 years. It's a zoo. Good luck. On Thursday morning, get your action in 3 hours before 1st tip or you might stand in line an hour. I remember the planet hollywood sportsbook line was out to door to the mall entrance last year 1 hour before tip.

i have been going for opening round the past 5 years, i would have to say even though Luxor's is small, they comp you drinks the entire time and last year had free raffles for tickets to see fantasy which our group won, not many sportsbooks have your drinks comped the entired time and they have a food court upstairs with 5-10 different restaurants to choose from

no offense zonacats but if I wanted to or anybody wanted to bet from their phone they would stay at home, the point of going out to vegas is betting at the sportsbooks living it up there

Spend all of your time waiting in line if that's what you call "living it up".

Stay away from anything near Boulder Highway, sportsbook or otherwise. The M has a really cool sportsbook equipped with in running wagering.
And as to the guy who bashed Harrah's for not allowing more than a dime on CBB, that is the case during the year. Usually what is allowed is 2200 to win 2k on CBB during the season but during March Madness you can get in enough for your liking

anyone been to Venetian/Palazzo since they have remodeled? That is where I am staying and they have the "mobile" betting now, which may be the way to go due to lines at other places....

Has anyone heard of a "viewing party" that places set up? A friend told me that Hilton will turn their banquet room into a secondary viewing/betting area.
Do you need to reserve anything at LVH or is it just first come first serve ?

Frankie - I've been doing some research on google. Looks like many of the casinos turn their banquet halls into a large viewing party now. Many of the places ask for reservations as well, and have a fee associated with it.
