$$$$$$ ALERT!
1-0 (UMASS +2.5 winning outright on Tuesday)
I'm looking at a game in Long Branch NJ tonight for my $$$$ play and am going against Monmouth, the darling of the conference.. One angle I have been playing all year and has really been working out is a team that shoots the 3 ball at a high percentage against a team that encourages it. Somebody on this thread had St Bonnies vs St Joes the other night. ( I loved that game too, it was my survivor pick) Just an example of a team that packs it in encourages the 3 against a team that shoots it well and got burned. Samford vs Mercer just another good example. The Stags have been shooting the ball exceptionally well all year and Monmouth encourages it which is why this game has my attention. In the first meeting, the Stags were in their flow offensively. Hitting threes and getting up and down the floor taking a 7 point lead into halftime. They got away from that in the 2nd half with trying to play conservative and got caught up in Monmouth's transition game. Im going say that Fairfield's coach Sydney Johnson's decision to let go of two assistant coaches and replace them with MAAC veterans starts to pay dividends in a game like tonight in terms of revenge against a conference opponent. I think they look at tape of the first half and stick with it instead of going away from it. Fairfield faced Quinnipiac on Monday night and lost as a 9 point favorite on their home floor because Q-Pac brought long athletic guards to defend the 3 and were backed up by the best rebounding team in the country to clear the boards. (And possibly a look ahead to this game?) This is not Monmouth's style. They look to pack it in, encourage the 3 point shot, and get out in transition. Monmouth's Justin Robinson is one of the best point guards in the country and will get his offensively but he is not looking to extend out on the 3 point line. Interestingly enough, Fairfield shoots the three better on the road than at home. (I'd say they are the only team in the country that does that but don't quote me) All in all, I think Fairfield has a legit chance to win this game OUTRIGHT. (And fully expect to be put in the $$$$ play of the day tommorow if so) But in the very least, I expect Fairfield to keep this thing inside the 12 points.

I often have a specific comment about your post or something like that that I don't this is necessary to post out in the open on the thread. Thanks in advance.

Bubbaski
Sorry just got out of a meeting. If I had to choose I think Lowry is playing well right now. Although Streb did finish only 5 shots behind last year with 3 rounds in the 60's.Cheering for Steele this week. Not so hot yesterday

Thanks for the play, Rookieguru. I just wanted to point out that we appreciate the play, but for it to be tracked as a $$$$ PLAY, please do a writeup with some personal insight as to why you KNOW its a winner. Your stats are good, but stats are available to everyone on the internet, so give us a little writeup with your knowledge and expertise on the game if you want it tracked as a $$$$ PLAY. Thanks man!

Stories of the old LOCK Thread, Episode I: The Story of PSYCHICMIKE
Back in 2007 and 2008, there was a LOCKer named "PSYCHICMIKE". He was the worst LOCKer in LOCK Thread history (at that point). His career LOCK record was 13-28-3. However, he was a 100%-good sport and continued to post LOCKS even though he was terrible at it and took a lot of grief at the beginning. At one point he was 3-10 and I started saying "His name is probably not Mike because he certainly isn't psychic either". He kept posting his LOCKS. And people faded him and he happily accepted it. In fact, as the thread wound down in 2006, he would get widely congratulated and thanked by other members for posting another loser that they could fade. So, as the LOCK Thread's original fade material, you could have said he was actually 28-13-3.....

lol I always love when people post "I was 7-0 the last 2 days but didn't post them" and think that people are stupid enough to believe that even a little bit.
