How underrated is Wisconsin?

Lunardi has them advancing out of the East. I think Wisco can take Vandy. Don't know if they will, but it seems like Vandy is the trendy pick when they are the biggest chokers the last 2 seasons in the tournament.

2011 lost by 3 first round to Richmond as a 5 seed.
2010 lost by 1 first round to Murray State as a 4 seed.

wisc doesn&#x27;t have enough offense.. if they can figure out how to score 60-65 pts on a consistent basis, then they have a good shot to get into the sweet 16

I have them in my sweet 16... i just like their style of play in their matchups early... they have a real problem scoring the ball at times which makes them a risky play against anyone.

They are pretty underrated and overlooked in the East. They don't have a lot of scoring punch but play deliberate ball and solid defense and rarely beat themselves. If they get up 8-10 points on you, you aren't coming back on them, unlike the 2 games we saw last night.

They are way overrated and overseded. If they get by Montana, Vandy will smoke them. Wisconsin has no offensive weapons, look at their 3 games against Michigan St.

PapaShango,I follow the Big Ten through and through and love to see them well-represented in the tourney, that being said, Bo Ryan&#x27;s style has yet to prove any worth in this tournament.  I love Bo as a coach, he get&#x27;s "more" out of his players than almost anyone else in college hoops, but it&#x27;s very hard for his offensively inept teams to win vs the different styles that get thrown at them in the Dance.  Anything can happen in this tournament, we&#x27;ve seen that the last few years, but I&#x27;d be shocked to see Wisky win more than 2 games, I have them losing to Vandy in 4 out of the 5 brackets I&#x27;ve filled out. Nobody likes them because they don&#x27;t score a bunch of points, I think they make a run here. Their style is impossible to prepare for in a day so I think Vandy will be in trouble

I think people are overrating Vanderbilt right now because they knocked off Kentucky.  We shall see shortly.  Harvard isn&#x27;t a joke.

I have a futures bet on Wisky to win it all. They will limit possessions and with Taylor running the point, they can beat anyone on any given night. Also, my numbers have them favored over Vandy in round two, and if they meet Syracuse without Melo, I think that line is closer to a PK than people think. If it gets that far, and they play Ohio St., they have already proven they can beat them, and on the road for that matter.

Now in two of my three brackets I have Vandy winning that game, but I think Wisky could definitely make a deep run.

On a side note, I know a lot of people are down on them because of the offense, but I think it is better than people give them credit for. Because of the limited possessions it may not look pretty in the box score but they have guys that can score. The thing I like about them is they are not reliant on one or two guys. Taylor is one of the best point guards at this level with experience. Gasser has a great outside stroke. Berggren is a matchup problem for a lot of teams because of his ability to hit the outside shot. Evans plays alot bigger than he is. Brust and Wilson have the ability off the bench to contribute on any given night.

I am not sure I agree that Vandy will struggle with them.  Vandy is a very experienced team with really strong guard play.  I suspect that will be enough for them to be able to control things, but I could be wrong.

Wiscy can just as easily lose in Rd 1 as they could win 3-4 games. They play deliberately and win the 3's are falling they can beat ANYONE. When they arent shooting it well they could lose to about 58 teams in this field.

They are a team I avoid entirely.

&#xD;&#xA;Wisky is hard to predict, if they have an off night shooting, they are done.  Tough for teams like that to advance far.  I think if they get by Montana, Vandy will be beat them.  I actually think Montana might give them a run for their money.  Keep in mind as well, this game will be at an altitude Wisky is not accustomed to playing at, and could give Montana a shot.&#xD;&#xA;bk

their problems is they rely on 3 point shooting too much.... and it is almost impossible to shoot well from the 3 point line 3 or 4 games in a row away from home....at some point in the first 4 games, they will struggle from the 3 point line and look like garbage and lose.

Exactly. I have Ohio St over Wisconsin in the Elite 8. Obviously the Buckeyes have that familiarly factor. Another point no one has mentioned is Jordan Taylor. Guy has underachieved all season, but it is his senior year and he has shown the ability to take over in big games. X-factor for the Badgers. Also, to those predicting an upset at the hands of Montana. They have faced the #344 (that&#x27;s right second to last) defensive SOS. Now they face what was at one time was considered the best defense in the nation.

I think everybody has forgot Vandy played without Ezeli for quite awhile, or they would be a 2 or 3 seed.....Vandy is VERY underrated, not Wisconsin.

Vandy appears to finally be playing like their preseason #7 ranking.  Once they get past their mental block of first round ousts and beat harvard, they are probably a #2 seed disguised as a #5 seed.
