 I believe SELU can survive if the defense provides at least minimal help because this team shoots the ball better then most. Having said that they are severely shorthanded with Zay Jackson and his team leading 15 points likely not playing Wednesday with second leading scorer Joshua Filmore listed as out against McNeese State which is another 13 points. In their place eleven point scorers Devonte Upson and Cedric Jenkins take over the attack and hope for help with the big loss in scoring.

 The McNeese State Cowboys were 14-15 on the year and 8-10 in conference action but seemed to be playing their best basketball at the end of the season with a run of four consecutive victories. The Cowboys were outscored 70-69 which made for some exciting end to end action and a fair share of nail biters of which they needed to win more of. The team scheduled too many sub division squads as well with five overall which greatly inflated their record.

 If the Cowboys are going to be heard it will be because of their scoring with a few very good players that can put the ball in the basket. Desharick Guidry leads the offense with over 17 points and eleven rebounds while Kevin Hardy does everything well at 13 points, 6.7 boards and four assists. Hardy is a 48% shooter and Guidry sinks half his looks so these guys are deadly. Jamaya Burr and Keenlan Grant are the next options with a combined 19 points but both are less then 38% marksman with most reserves also hitting at well below 40%.

The Lions are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games and  are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Southland while going  2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win. The line seems weird to me with the lions shorthanded but every line is weird because these teams don’t get a spread often. The Cowboys swept the season series so  can they make it three straight?
