8-7 Yesterday after going 6-2 in the early games...
Anyways im going to try something completely new starting today in all sports. I have never done this in my 3 years of betting on sports but im going to make myself a better gambler. One play a day except for SAT 1-3 plays. I have been a person that loves action but i want to take this to another level. Whether it is just a one play in NCAAF, NBA, NFL, MLB, or NCAAB those days. There will be something but one play unless it is a SAT then 1-3 plays. I have had some very very good days no doubt about it playing as many as i do or else i would not be here with you boys. I am just tired of making 12-20 plays a day in all sports and coming out around even or gettin brains beat it and losing some of my 30U plays the next or several days in row put together. I dont know if this is me growing up and wanting to take this more seriously instead of just throwing money around to where my bankroll could be shot in a year or what. I enjoy doing this as my wife would tell most i spend way to much time looking at numbers and reading up on all aspects of sports but money comes into her and the bitching stops. I just want to quit living on a constant grind in this betting world where im trying to catch up on certain days after starting a day 1-5 or giving it back like yesterday after starting 6-2. I want to take my 1 loss or 1 win and move on to the next day and play the grind like that.
Now i know most of you enjoy my write-ups and it does help with you guys when wanting to get a different opinion or another look at another side. I will cont. that for you guys but it will be plays that stand out to me and i will pick one from those. So like yesterday i had close 18 write-ups i think i will cont to do that.
This is going to be very hard for me to do early because like i said i love the action but i want to take this to another level like most athletes do or this is the athlete in myself starting to come out. But BOL to you all and will be back shortly with some write-ups...

lovely write up, i have been trying the same approach the past 2 weeks, 1 play on the weekdays, but the weekends can range from 3-5 games for me...u are right it is betting at another level and trust me the action is good enough being on that one game ur just not used to it...vegas wants u to bet a bunch of games, but we are learning....gluck

bird i understand where ur coming from....i call saturdays sucker saturdays cuz i could honestly play like 30 games but i sat down picked out 4 games and thats it....saturday is by hard the hardest day if u ask me..........well good luck bud....hope to see you in this forum the most cuz this is all i got going pretty much now.....

Your new strategy could pay off financially...it's hard to play just one or two games when you're so used to having action but I remember Jim Tressel playing one a day in baseball and he was pretty successful.I'll miss all of your analysis on different games, you always provide insightful information

Ive been playing 1-5 games per day this year. I played 5 games today which I think is the most games ive played all year. I'm 3-1 right now and waiting on stanford +3. Ive been doing pretty well this year. If there isnt a game I like then I dont bet. I dont just bet just to bet.

IOWA +7.5 This team has played 5 games so far away from home and has played all of them very competitively except for one and that was against DRAKE. Both teams coming off some very bad performances. IOWA went on a 10min scoring drought in the second half against MINNY and blowing a sizable lead at home. While MICH was down close to 22 i believe against a pitful IU team before coming back and winning in OT. Tough to tell how both teams will react but defense is always there and that is what IOWA excels at. If TATE is a no go for IOWA this def. a no play. But i expect IOWA to bounce back with a much better effort offensively and compete with this talented MICH team. If MICH does jump out early which they are capable of doing this game has blow out written all over it as IOWA does not have that one true scorer who can put his team on his back and carry them back into a ball game.
ST JONHS/PITT -19.5 Very tough spot for both team IMO. ST JOHNS coming off a surprising win against ND and PITT comes home after a 3 game road trip to play 2 bottom feeders in the BIG EAST in ST JOHNS and USF. PITT played some good teams on that 3 game trip and pulled out some W's to propel them into the number 1 slot but with a little help of the HEELS. Does PITT play like the number 1 team in the land or do the come out flat and just get by with 10-14pt win or do they come out with the mentality of taking it out on a ST JOHNS team who just had there biggest win of the season???
WISC +5.5 Injuries mean alot to PU right now. WISC is playing some great ball right now. I think they got a little payback in there minds when PU came into there place and beat them last year. This was the last leg of my dads play as he pridected PU getting beat at PSU and the coming home to lose to WISC to start the BIG TEN season off 0-3. I can see that happening myself as these injuries are a big factor. I see both are questionable for tomorrow and if Hummell and Kramer suit up i will not touch this as they will have some fire to pick up a good win and gain some momentum back as they move further into conf. But for now small lean to the hotter team and better coach in Bo Ryan...
WF +6 How good are these boys? Well we find out tomorrow as they have had a week to prepare. UNC is going to come out swinging as they will be determined to let the ACC know who is top dog. I see it being very tough for them though. As this gym will be rocking tonight. This is the best WAKE team i have seen in a long time and if you ask me they are final 4 caliber. UNC will not be beating teams up on the glass tonight as WAKE will come right back at them. This is going to be physical and hard fought and should be one of the best games of the season. But when it comes down to the spread i like the better defensive team and rebounding team in WAKE. Offensive numbers are skewed IMO as both teams can fill it up. Foul trouble will be very key for WAKE as they dont have the bench to run for 40min with the HEELS. Teague needs to have another monster performance just like against BYU to match Ellington or Green which ever one is on. I also expect Aminu to step up in a big way and show NBA scouts what he is capable of tomorrow. Fuck this is going to be a great game. The best bet could easily be first half HEELS though as they will have a chip on there shoulder and WAKE has had 7 days off to prepare and may come out of the gates tight...

I find it very difficult to do in practice, as its very frequently hard for me to isolate one that I feel supre confident in, and in the past when I did, there is still variance so I would be uber-pissed when it didn't hit or when there was a really emotional loss.
I think I will eventually get to that spot one day, likely when I am a little older and wiser.
I wish you success in it. You are obviously a good enough capper to do it, so hopefully it will pay off in lots of for you.

It's just like cutting you off the juice....withdrawal from the action will be the hardest part...just stay focused and continue to bring it back to money management....you're a class act Bird and this will work for you over the long run....you've got everything working for you and I'm sure everyone here has your interests at heart.....If you ever start to doubt yourself, simply come back to this thread and read your own words once or twice again and you'll get a great sense of renewed commitment....Go get 'em and good luck....
