One trend I forgot to mention for the ILL game tonight is the home team is 16-2 ATS...

That leaves us with ILLINOIS -6.5. I was really gun shy on this when i first saw it but the more i think about it the more i am loving this spot for ILLINOIS. Champaign is one of the toughest places to win in the BIG 10. You have a very shakey road team in MICH and team that has been steam rolling opponents at home except for a very good CLEM team they lost to. You throw in the mix of a rematch and we have the works of a blowout. This gym is going to be rocking tonight. The atmosphere will be way to much for MICH to handle. Both teams have some big games ahead of them MICH plays rival OSU and ILL plays MSU. This is the only factor that is holding me back from making this a 30U play. In that last meeting MICH shot unreal from the floor to win that game IMO. Wont happen this time. Bruce Weber is going to have the boys ready to control MICH on the perimeter and they wont shoot no where near 40% like last time. Expect MICH to be in this game for maybe 10min thats all i am giving them. ILL will be ready for this one and should win comfortably by DD's. Line is sitting at 6.5 with my book some place 7. This line wont come down and if it does hit 5 i will unload again. Thats it boys BOL to all tonight as I wont be around much.

I was at the IU debacle for this UofM team and let me say, the crowd was NOT hostile. Michigan is still young, this will only be their 3rd true road game, and assembly hall is a top 3 B10 hardest places to win for opp.(Thats just my stat :) ). BOL Everyone and Bird keep up the good work whether I agree or disagree, your insight is always appreciated.

I swear HT was 18-1 when i checked the first matchup this year ha. Oh well 16-2 is still pretty decisive.

Bird..BOL tonight......I also really like the Illini tonight to take down mich with relative ease in a big revenge spot at home.  I am a bit of a homer here being that as I am an alum.  The only thing tat I would say about making this a max play is that U of I is only one of a handful of schools that does not return from christmas break until tues after MLK day.  The orange will be lacking its full punch of students but I am still expecting it to be loud and full of eneergy. Just wated to add this bit of info...again BOL and I am also locked in on ILL...only bet them once this year against purdue (1-0ytd)

The more i examin this game, the less i like my wolverines chances....if they do lose i hope they lose by 8 or so, so you boys can cover

Here are my major points on this game buddy

1. Revenge

2. Home team is 16-2 ATS

3 I dont expect MICH to have the same shooting percentages like they did in there last meeting.

4. Bruce Weber and the home court will be a big factor tonight.

5. MICH road woes

 

 

My biggest concern though is that ILL has a much bigger task ahead of them playing MSU but they split the series up her tonight and keep moving up in the conf. standing they are going to need every credible win they can get for there resume come March...

Great points bird but you also have to consider how shocking it is that MICH is playing.  I do see the Illini wanting revenge after loosing by 10.... but i see it being a close game till the end.  Heres a couple more stats that are interesting

- Illinois is shooting 48% ,  MICH is shooting 44%

- Michigan is 6-2 ATS in its last 8 games when playing Illinois

Leaning towards DUKE 1H play or MSU -5.5

Ahhh yes Bird, Ill take a #4 super sized with a small side of number 2 lol....I agree with your analysis, as usual....these two things being the major reasons for a no play for this wolvs fan....BOL tonight though, in no time youll be killing this 1-3 a day

MICH was my sleeper this year in the big ten but where did the illini come from???

I will say this though 4 of those games were at MICH...

Huge SU fan, but this is there classic early season Big East let down.. Why would books give them 6-7?? They clearly feel the same thing you see each and every year with SU.. First big test leads to a BIG loss.. GTown needs a huge game and facing the #8 team in the country at HOME will have them pumped for a huge game.. I am seeing 90+% on the SU spread and I feel this is just what the books knew would happen with such a large spread.. I could be wrong, but really feel this deserves a larger play than normal on Georgetown..
