Anyone who judges a conference in a single elimination tournament is not very smart.

This game has nothing to do with the BE versus the Mountain West, this is a game between UConn and SDST.

The BYU team you mentioned was at full strength at the time. If they're still at full strength, they're probably a final four squad and possibly a 1 or 2 seed.

Compare SDSU's home splits, with Uconn's road splits. Come back and try to post something for me to respond to.

That is my point, no they did not, it is all about match ups, 1 conference is not playing against another conference, teams play against teams.

They got some bad matchups. Notre Dame is not used to playing a team like Florida State on a regular basis, and FSU played extremely well. Same for Pitt against BYU.

Conference this, conference that. Game of basketball is 90% matchups regardless of what conference any team is from.

Even NBA teams struggle playing "on the road."

College kids are far worse at it. UConn may be the better team in your opinion, but they are at a distinct disadvantage tonight based on location. It's unfortunate for them, but it's the truth.

This matchup is all about SDSU & can they see the MAJOR difference in playing UCONN vs. playing the likes of Northern Colorado, Colorado St, Air Force, Wyoming, New Mexico & UNLV...Who can't D these fuckin teams up???  For SDSU to Win they have to expend every aspect of energy, crowd backing, 100% execution on offense, probably get clowned on defense & whatever else they got!! Im not saying they can't win but this is ChampionsShip Night for them!  Another day at the office for UCONN... GL Everyone!

Uconn arrived on the West coast on Monday, which has given them 3 days to adjust and prepare... Plenty of time.

I'm on UCONN.  Here are some good trends from Statfox if you are into that.

 CONNECTICUT is 10-0 ATS (+10.0 Units) when playing on a neutral court this season. The average score was CONNECTICUT 78.4, OPPONENT 66.7 - (Rating = 6*).

CONNECTICUT is 10-2 ATS (83.3%, +7.8 Units) in road games versus very good teams - outscoring their opponents by 8+ points/game this season. The average score was CONNECTICUT 71.7, OPPONENT 69.4 - (Rating = 2*)

In Cali...you must not drive like a californian if it takes you that long to get to Diego.  1.5 hours tops. Heading down to the Honda Center, Diego St will have plenty of support.  Not sure it that's enough to stop Kemba......

Tough game SarahJPhilli and the location is a little concerning but I usually roll with the Hot Team with the best player on the floor.  I also  just looked at a site that posts all the "Expert" and "Tout" picks and there is heavy action on SDSU from them.   Good luck with your pick as Florida is my big play today!

SD State to Anaheim= 207 miles

That's like saying St. Johns would be playing a home game in Washington D.C.

All the UCONN backers does scare me but take a look at this tournaments play. SD State was lucky to come out with a win in their last game.

The only thing I keep replaying in my head was the "BYU revenge" game at San Diego State.

BYU came in and beat SDSU pretty badly.
