I'm not just saying this because of Kentucky's performance tonight, but honestly...
He's got the size for a point guard, got the speed, NO jumpshot, NO poise in the clutch. He can dominate against inferior athletes, but at the next level, does anyone seriously think he's ahead of Derrick Rose when he came out? Not a chance, he's the product of hype, and a weak freshman class.
As a Wizards fan, give me Wesley Johnson. Wall needs to develop bigtime. I might be the only one to say it, but stay one more year and develop your game Mr. Wall.

AGREED! He could not win it by himself, but in my opinion Couisins impressed me ! I dont watch Duke, I lost on this game, and everything I was relying on was just HYPE! Baylor+ 5 tomorrow!

What does Duke and Baylor have to do with John Wall?
Thanks for the feedback though... for the record I'm already locked in on Baylor +5.

I agree with you and the coach is soooooooooooooo overated too.His next championship will be his first. The problem is that it will never happen.

GOD I hate Calipari. What a douche. I hope he never gets a championship. I actually respected and rooted for Kentucky as a classy program, until they hired him. He is everything that is wrong with college basketball.
I hate Duke more than anything, but I can admit that Coach K is everything that is right with college bball...
All that being said, Coach Cal knows how to recruit. I just think Wall is the product of his move to Kentucky, an over - exhuberant media, and the need for the public to find the next Lebron James. He is a good basketbal player, nothing more. I feel sorry for the kid, he's got a rude awakening coming in the NBA.

Do you guys really believe what you say or did you lose a bet today? Wall is a great player.
No, I bet the over 133.5 on the Kentucky game. I won. He's a good player, but he is OVERRATED. Bottom line. He can develop into an extremely good player, but I'm sick of everyone kissing up to this dude that is extremely inconsistent in a half court game... and unless you play on a selct few teams in the league, that is what he's going to play at the next level.

He is also 18 or 19 years old. Dont you think that he will develop his shot and that his potential is sky high. He has amazing court vision, which is not something you can teach. Remember he is a point guard, not a shooting guard or 3 point shooter. NBA scouts cant wait to get their hands on this kid. Trust me he is not overrated, he is YOUNG.

Took the words out of my mouth. Point guards direct traffic, assist, and put people in position to score. A rush to judgement after one year is ridiculous. Stereotypical outrage from a fan/gambler that lost.

Everyone wants to see people score. Thats why you bring up Rose's name. Wall is by far the best true point guard at the college level I have ever seen. Put this kid around a NBA supporting cast not just 2 or 3 NBA type of players and watch what this kid can do running a offense.

Wow you guys are complete idiots. Have you not watched this kid all year. The clutch shots he made down the stretch in tons of their games. Im guessing you clowns on the covers forum know a hell of a lot more than the NBA scouts who say Wall is much better at his age than Rose was. Time will tell but you are just plain stupid for starting a thread like this. He is an 18 year old kid. Sorry his jumper is not straight butter 65 % of the time

Derrick Rose puts Wall to shame.... Been saying all year Wall is overhyped. He is a great talent but overhyped.
Rose is stronger, can get to the rim better, has better hops, body control, athleticism, etc.
Tyreke Evans, I think is better, Evans is a legit 6'5 and his arms are long as hell. He has great feel for the game, vision, and understanding.
Wall exploded onto the college scene this year because there was so much media surrounding Kentucky. He played fantastic but he is not as good as some PG in years previous.
Cousins is the X-factor on Kentucky. Without Cousins, UK is nothing this year. Cousins is what made kentucky so great and his play allowed Wall to operate the way he did.
I would take Cousins with the #1 pick. Kid is a beast and will only get better.

His supporting cast did not know nor have the perimeter game to spread the floor. When he gets into the NBA style where a team cannot just clog the lane the kid will be much better than average on his first day. His game moving to the basket is excellent.
He is also ready defensively at this point.
The kid will need to find a jumper that has more consistent range to excel.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Who cares who's better. Will the kid fit into a NBA system and be benefical to his team. Scoring is not the first option for a point guard. You're misconceived about the positon of a point guard.
