I'm showing this as a Kansas St. Win by 10 points. Charlotte puts up points, but Kansas St. is a much tougher program from a talent / strength of schedule perspective. They also do not let up a ton of points. Neither team shoots 3's well, which pushes the line down to a lower number like -4 or -4.5
Talent will prevail. KSTATE large and then dump it on the Saints later.

Denzel Ingram is ready to play for Charlotte tonight. He has had a foot injury, but is active for tonight's game. He is a point guard that can score, and is a heady player. I would add 1-3 points to the 49er's power ratings as he is likely to have a positive impact, and will at least add to their depth.
Stats never tell the whole story in early season games (that's why I wait till mid Jan before making serious wagers), as coaches are trying out different lineups, etc. I'm inclined to go against the public Kansas State team in this match up, waiting till the last second before making a wager trying to get a better number.
Good Luck

Of course you are completely right. Luckly this is all about long-term run so losing this one is not going to have any impact to serious better. F.E. I am actually leaving somewhere in January because till that time spreads are so good fine tuned that there is (FOR ME) almost nothing to bet. OK, I do then two games ML parlay from time to time.

My "raw numbers" for this game have K St by 6.5. If I subtract 2 points for the addition of a point guard, I'm right at the books number, thus no play. However. if looking at it from a handicapping standpoint, since turnovers have been a problem in 1/3 of their games, a new point guard (and a high recruit) could impact this team (Charlotte) immediately.
If you look closely at the offensive output by the Charlotte team you'll see that they have 4-5 scorers on their team. They will be a tough match up, because it looks like the entire starting 5 or 6 can put it in the hoop.
Conversely K State's last game had their leading scorer playing only 25 minutes in a cakewalk. The game was over by 1/2 time, so their true numbers are better than they look on paper. They could have won that game by another 10 points if the wanted to.
I'm passing this game, but would look hard at the dog here if wagering. My personal preference is totals, pace and possessions, etc. The books could be way off on the total if this new point guard can push the pace, and make a few steals leading to fast break layups :)

The BEST info you can receive is from coaches interviews. This is especially true in college. When I have the opportunity to listen to a coach talk about his team, I listen.
The person I have learned the most from is Steve Lavin. He was the first to explain the 4 different seasons in CBB. This insight made me change the way I handicap, and has added to my advantage greatly.

one thing about CBB, those kids don't have that "killer mentality" when a team is ahead by DD in the 2nd half, they usually put the foot off the gas and let the other team make a run
