wait a second here, it seems like every single “expert” on ESPN and Fox are picking Villanova with ease. As if Kansas is not a good team. What am I missing here?
Kansas will win this game, they are peeking at the most important time. And Malik Newman has never played this good, while Azubuike is healthy at the same time. There’s regular Kansas, and then there’s Kansas with MVP Malik Newman at his peek. With Newman playing on another level and their guard play matching Villanova I see it as an even playing field. But here’s the difference, Kansas just beat Duke and was tested in overtime. This gives them a tremendous test under pressure and a huge boost of confidence heading into this game.
Even on the eye test Kansas looks better thus far. They looked tremendous vs Clemson who is a much stiffer test than West Virginia, and Duke is 3x as good as Texas tech. Texas tech looked putrid vs Nova, they couldn’t rebound and they took extremely bad shots throughout the whole game as did West Virginia. Villanova has not faced an offense like Kansas since last season in 2016-2017. Villanova is a very overrated team, they have not played one elite team this entire year, not one.
