I don't really care who disagrees with me, it is true. Kentucky has as many as 8 NBA players on their current roster but what makes them elite is that they always play tenacious defense while not caring who scores. I think the Hansbrough/Lawson Carolina team could give them a run for their money, but no other team in the last ten years comes to mind. With this Kentucky team you have lottery picks all over the floor sacrificing personal goals for the sake of winning a title. It is a rare thing to see..

One thing to say you don't care who disagrees. Another thing to say its true with such an absolute attitude. You have no idea how they'd play against a few of the NCAA's most recent teams. Kansas missed about a dozen baskets around the rim and got an average at best game from their best player. If this UK team is the greatest of the last decade then KU has to be top 5 of the decade. I bet you this, had the two existed in the exact same year UNC would've been favored...
Also, the 8 nba players sounds impressive on paper, but they're not all NBA quality right now. And the fact that they play as a team is terriffic, the reason I backed them in my bracket. But you're blending the fact that none of them were head and shoulders better than any of the others enough to have only one star. They had several stars because they had to. They got a dozen from several players a night b/c none of them were a sure thing to get you 20. Distribution is not to be confused with ability.

The one thing you have to remember is how young this Kentucky team is. Can you imagine if they all stayed for 4 years? That would be scary.

wait t rav ur way wrong cal admitted to not letting his team run 2nda half or they coulda won by 20+ if u watched 2nd half it was clear kentucky was just content with milking clock. Neva wass this game in doubt even at end they made a run but the only thing in question in that game was point spread. kentucky in my eyes was far superior team

I mean I'm not taking anything away from them. Their first half performance was decisive, as was their dominance all year long. I also understand we're a capping site, but it just annoys the shit out of me when people make predictions or comments on something that hasn't happened or in this case, won't ever happen and make such absolute statements. Present all the facts you want, but don't say something like that then say, 'disagree if you want. its true.' He has no idea if its true or not. This is a forum. A forum is for discussion and conversation. "idc who disagrees," while turning a deaf ear to anyone with an opinion different from his is the exact opposite of a forum topic. If he wants to make unprovable comments and spout off opinions with nobody to debate him, get a twitter. This isn't the outlet he's looking for if he wants to make a statement and is unwilling to hear anything further.

Can you imagine if UF's players decided to 3 peat?
Florida would have beaten this team, if you can't tell the difference in greatness you are crazy. UF could do all the things UK could do AND shot WAYYYYYYYY better from the Arc. Florida beat some BEAST teams on the way to both titles as well. Hell I think that OSU team that year could have played with UK and maybe beaten them.

The what have you done for me lately absolutely cripples the ADHD American mind, or it is just kids posting that never saw these other teams play to know what true Greatness looked like.

Which is also pointless to ask. What if loads of players stayed for 4 years. What if UNC was able to return Henson, Barnes, Marshall and Macadoo? A team who was a possible final 4 team returning the nation's best PG, ACC defensive POY and former no. 1 recruit in the nation. Their ability to develop in the future is pointless b/c this is the game Cal signed up for, and this is the team the OP backed. Part of my opinion on giving UNC the edge lies in the fact that they had 3 jr. and 2 sr. in their starting lineup. Cal does a great job playing the hand he's dealt. But he CHOOSES his starting cards.

Did Henson, Barnes, Marshall and Macadoo just cut down the nets and beat them earlier in the year? didnt think so

They played them to a 1 point game and had a chance to win it in the end. UNC isn't as good as Kentucky. I'll be the first to say it, hence my filled out bracket with UNC losing in the elite 8. My point with the comment was that everyone can say what ifs with players leaving early, it happens to all elite programs.
Cool job asking a question and quickly answering it. Its like you already knew the reply. You're so witty

You notice in a comment which had nothing to do with Kentucky being better than the current UNC team, which isn't the debate, the Kentucky fan immediately gets defensive and tries to be snide. Idk why you guys are taking this so personal. I for one am not insulting you at all, just trying to put to rest this ADHD attitude that sports fans have which causes them to immediately declare the most recent champion the GOAT. Sleep it off and wait a few days for it to settle. If you still agree with your original opinion, go back and watch film. You might surprise yourself how great the teams were that you simply forgot about.

This thread will separate common sense quickly, and the saddest part is.. there will probably be more people that think UK is the best team in 10 years on this site out of pure ignorance and being young.

This needs to be taken out of every equation. They're not gonna, so who cares how good they "would be" if they stayed. There should never be a discussion based on imagining how good a team would be if so-and-so stayed, because the bottom line is they didn't stay.

jwheels i feel your gators are the best in last 10 yrs. They were awesome. But for you to completely dismiss people saying this kentucky team is the best by saying they are young and dumb just shows you hate kentucky. Florida was the best but not by much. Now, this goes beyone 10 yrs but id take the 2001 duke team with jay williams, battier, boozer, dunleavy, duhon, nate james etc over them

I would take Kentucky slightly over Hanborough's Heels and Noah's Gators. But like I said that is my opinion..It's not like we can get all the teams together and play a game..

Jakelake remember the 09 heels got rocked the year before in a much more loaded final 4. The year unc won the natl title it was much easier for them. Gators and wildcats are better than unc
