ASU has had a really tough year with injuries and Covid. At full strength, they are a Tourney team for sure. That loss the other night vs. Arizona was an absolute heartbreaker. I feel like tonight will be a determiner if they are going to fight for the season or just kind of shut it down and regroup for next year. I think the team's motivation is on top of a fence and could go either way, and if things go poorly tonight, things could fall apart. But, they are playing Arizona tonight, and the heart and soul of their team, Remy Martin, who has not been himself at all this year, came to life in the last game. He looked like the antagonistic, aggressive, pain in the A$$ that he has been the last few years. If he is operating at 100%, he won't let ASU fold. He has several very good players in his supporting cast, and if Graham or Cherry play tonight, it will really help. The team is deep when at full strength and much more athletic than Arizona. The Wildcats have removed themselves from postseason consideration in an attempt to hold off NCAA sanctions, so their motivations will waver all season. This is a death-match rivalry though, so they will be ready to play tonight. You never take an under in an ASU/UA matchup nowadays. It's been an "over or nothing" bet situation for a few years, but 156 is rough. No play for me. Arizona has plenty of talent, but their backcourt situation is shallow with Baker out for the year and ASU's strength is having several guards who can cut to the basket just as well as they can bomb long 3's. I got ASU at +6.5 after dragging my feet and missing out on +7. Its not a huge play because I can really see Arizona coming out and punching ASU in the mouth and ASU just phoning it in, but I trust Martin and his fight and desire and think he won't let his team shut down. Good luck everyone.
