Look Ahead to FRI NIGHT: Butler @ Detroit!!!!

WOW, what a game this could be, DETROIT at HOME, looking to Avenge two, 2-point losses from last season vs BUT, with a MUCH more talented team... Havent played well at home Thus Far, losing outright to Akron and Wisc-Milw... but I look for DET to play Butler very tough as they have done in recent seasons..... I estimate the line will be DET +3 to +6, AT HOME. Definitely am going to make a LARGE play on the Home Team, in a ESPN game. Last ESPN Game Detroit played, they blew out a team by 25, and appeared to be up for it..... Anyone have any thoughts, I know it's 2 days away.

Hellsz yeah... would love to see DET pull out an Outright Win. They have kinda stunk it up at Home this season thus far.

Yup, betwn 3 and 5, I think. Going to be interesting, for sure. Just hope they show up at home and stand tall like alot of teams have been doing lately, as Home Dogs.

Get off work btwn 6 and 630, Fri, and will be glued to this one, with some be-e-e-e-e-e-e-ers, And probably a 5 unit play on DET regardless of the spread. I am biased , I know... but they became my favorite team when they won me tons of str8 bets and then a big 5 game parlay last year (watched the game on the internet). I've made more money playing on Detroit than any other team in the past 2 years. Just hope they don;t have another poor performance at Home, that would be miserable to watch.

UPDATE:  Bad News for Detroit fans/backers - ELI HOLMAN has been SUSPENDED for One Game due to altercation/ejection from Sat's game vs UIC............ Not Good... However, DET's LaMarcus Lowe, a tall , athletic player played GREAT in that UIC game, and he averages 2.8 Blocks per game (he comes off the bench). However, the lack of depth inside is most likely going to be crippling for Detroit now. They are going to need BIG minutes from Lowe and Nick Minnerath, a PF, who has had two 20 point games in his last 3. These guys get into foul trouble as they are very aggressive on the defensive end. Hopefully they can step up in Holman's absence, who averages a Double-Double (12 pt, 10 Reb per game)

Im with you on this game  but based on your knowledge of detroit the loss of holman dosent scare you away from the game curiouse of your thoughts JDubs800?

The Loss of Holman could be big in terms of Depth, but in the game on SAT, vs UIC, DET was down by 8 when Holman was ejected. They came back to win the game with L. Lowe playing in his place. He is a LONG, Tall, athletic player who averages almost 3 Blocks a game in limited time as a bench player. However, if he gets into foul trouble, that could be a big problem. However, Coach McCallum may opt to go with a 3-guard style with McCallum JR, Chase Simon and Chris Blake (another new addition) who has been playing well. Will be interesting to see how they opt to match up against Butler.

I think the Total of 143 is a little high considering Holman is out... However, Detroit has played OVER in 7 of 8 home games this year. If they choose to play a FAST PACE (which I am expecting) then that number might be in jeopardy. All depends on the Pace.... Butler usually likes a slower pace and to keep the games in the 50's and 60's. DET seems to play best when they're pushing it and looking for easy baskets and penetration, they'd probably like a game to be in the 60's and 70;'s range.

DAMN at my 2 books that I use the Line has gone DOWN to DETROIT +5 Only.... So the number is going to be +5, not +6

Hey JDubs800......don't follow this Detroit team quite like you, but they have impressed at times. How big of a loss is Holman tonight? Is this still a big play for you? How many units will you ahve on this. I'm looking at one big play tonight and this could be it depending on how you feel....thanks for your help!

hey Canadian... well for now, I just locked it in, DET +5 for 1 Unit    will probably add more on it later b4 Tip-Off ... Holman's loss of a Double-Double and a tough inside presence is going to hurt the Depth. His replacement, LaMarcus Lowe had been playing great, he is faster, leaner and longer than Holman. I think Coach McCallum opts for a 3 guard lineup, and Minnerath and Lowe as the Fwds to start. Lowe has been a problem for teams, he is a strong defender. I wouldn't make a BIG play on it though because one of their best is OUT and they don't have alot of depth with the Big Men. There are 2 guys, Bruinsma and Hoskins who are PF/C and see very limited action. If Nick Minnerath and L. Lowe get into foul trouble , look for them to go with Small Lineup and attack the rim and take lots of outside shots.
