It's been nearly a month since Kentucky has won consecutive games, and the No. 15 Wildcats' next chance to do so will come Tuesday night when they host No. 5 Tennessee in a Southeastern Conference clash at Lexington, Ky.
Kentucky (16-7, 5-5 SEC) is coming off an 80-57 home win Saturday against South Carolina.
Before the win over the Gamecocks, Kentucky had lost four of five games, with its only triumph coming on the road over then-No. 8 Tennessee, 78-73, on Jan. 28. Without Butler, who ranks third on the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game and leads the Wildcats with averages of 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals, Koby Brea's 18 points paced the Wildcats vs. the Volunteers.
Since that loss, Tennessee (20-4, 7-4) has won three straight, including 70-52 at Oklahoma on Saturday. Chaz Lanier's 21 points led the Volunteers, who shot 69.2 percent from the field in the first half and led by as many as 28 with 5:28 to play.
Lanier paces Tennessee with a 17.7 point average, and Zakai Zeigler leads with 7.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
The Volunteers already have avenged one loss, which came at the hands of Florida. They lost to the Gators 73-43 in Gainesville, Fla., on Jan. 7 but won at home 64-44 on Feb. 1.

The Crimson Tide (20-3, 9-1 SEC) have won six straight and 14 of their last 15. Alabama continued its run with an 85-81 road win at Arkansas on Saturday while No. 1 Auburn and No. 2 Duke both lost that day.
The Longhorns (15-9, 4-7) have dropped three of their past four, including Saturday's 86-78 road loss against Vanderbilt. That gave them two straight defeats because they lost 78-70 at home to Arkansas in their previous contest.
Texas started 11-2 but things began spiraling in the wrong direction when SEC play began and the Longhorns lost to then-No. 13 Texas A&M, then-No. 2 Auburn and then-No. 1 Tennessee.
The new conference foes are meeting for the first time since Dec. 22, 2017, when Texas recorded a 66-50 win over the Crimson Tide in a tournament in Birmingham, Ala.

Creighton, which posted a 68-63 road victory over the Huskies on Jan. 18, resides one game behind St. John's for the top spot in the conference. The Red Storm recorded their 10th straight win on Friday night and handed the Huskies their fourth loss in eight games with a 68-62 decision.
When asked if he thought an 11-2 conference record was possible given the team's standing at that time, Creighton head coach Greg McDermott was quick with a response.
"What'd (St. John's head coach Rick) Pitino say? ‘I can't believe we lost the other two?'" McDermott said. "Maybe he used a little different verbiage than that."
