What ever the Narratives are in the CBB, the game is played on the court, anything can happen on a day to day basis especially in the playoff tournaments.
Notre Dame has won two straight and three of its last five games. That stretch began Feb. 22 with a 76-72 home victory against Pitt with Tae Davis racking up 21 points. Davis fouled out in regulation against Cal.
Pitt halted a four-game losing streak Saturday with a 93-67 home victory against Boston College.
"This is the perfect time to tap into (high energy), getting ready to go into the ACC tournament," Pitt guard Brandin Cummings said.
The Panthers looked like they would contend for an NCAA Tournament spot during the first couple of months of the season. They'll try to get that back for the conference tournament.

Cal and Virginia Tech have struggled down the stretch, yet one of them will claim at least a second game in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.
The teams meet in the first round Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte, N.C.
No. 10 seed Virginia Tech (13-18) has lost two in a row and three of its last four, including Saturday's 65-47 setback at then-No. 11 Clemson. Tuesday's winner meets No. 7 seed Stanford on Wednesday night.
"Let's go play well," Virginia Tech coach Mike Young said. "Won at Cal earlier in the year."
No. 15 seed Cal (13-18) has lost seven of its last eight games. The Golden Bears nabbed the last berth into the ACC tournament in their first season in the conference.
Virginia Tech won the regular-season meeting 71-68 on Jan. 11 at Cal despite guard Andrej Stojakovic's 24 points. He hasn't scored that many points in a game since.

With both teams winning on the other team's home court during the regular season, Kansas State and Arizona State are glad their final meeting is on a neutral court.
The 15th-seeded Sun Devils (13-18) face the 10th-seeded Wildcats (15-16) meet in the third game of the Big 12 tournament Tuesday in Kansas City, Mo., in a battle of teams that have fallen short of expectations.
Kansas State has been the definition of streaky this season. The Wildcats won their first conference game, then lost six in a row. They followed that with a six-game winning streak, including a 71-70 win Feb. 4 at Arizona State. That, of course, was followed by a four-game losing streak that included the home loss to the Sun Devils.

While Florida State announced a new head coach this week, Syracuse declared it will stick with its current coach as the two programs square off in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament Tuesday night in Charlotte, N.C.
The 11th-seeded Seminoles (17-14) introduced Sacramento Kings assistant coach and Florida State alum Luke Loucks as their next coach on Monday. Meanwhile, Florida State will play in the ACC tourney for the 22nd and final time under the tutelage of 76-year-old coach Leonard Hamilton, who announced in February his intent to retire once the season ends.
"I'm not signing up to bounce somewhere for a better job," said Loucks, who played for Hamilton from 2008-12. "I'm hoping this is my last job. The way to do that is to be successful. I'm coming here to win."
Loucks will be "observing" the team this week while Hamilton guides FSU from the sidelines. Hamilton was honored Saturday during his final home game, which the Seminoles won 76-69 over SMU behind Malique Ewin's 26 points and eight rebounds.
Syracuse has struggled after going 20-12 last season in Autry's first year after taking over for the legendary Jim Boeheim. The Orange have not made the NCAA Tournament since the 2020-21 season and, barring a major turnaround to end the season, are likely to finish with their second losing record in the past four seasons.
The winner of this game will advance to face No. 6 seed SMU in the next round.
