VCU has beaten St Joseph's 6 straight times. VCU also ranks 12th in the country in free throw percentage. I expect a close game with VCU covering with some late made free throws. I'm taking VCU -2.5.

I expect a fast start for both teams in the Nebraska vs Illinois game. In the last 3 games Nebraska has averaged over 45 first half points. For the season Illinois is averaging 39.8 first half points. Taking first half total over 72.5.

VCU struggled to put it away but we'll take a win either way.

1st half total went well over in the Nebraska and Illinois game. We're 2-0 on the day. Working on one more play for today.

Colorado is top 10 nationally in both 3 point and overall field goal percentage. They also out-rebound opponents by an average of 7 per game.  Oregon is coming off a win over Arizona where they won the rebounding battle and held Caleb Love to 6 points. I feel like Colorado is too balanced and efficient offensively and can win the rebounding battle tonight. Taking Colorado -2.5.

We went 2-1 yesterday after that Colorado loss. Looking at one early play today in the SEC Championship game. Florida comes in red hot, averaging 93 points in their last 5 games. For the season both Auburn and Florida are averaging over 40 1st half points per game. I’m hoping for an early track meet between these two. We’re going with 1st half total over 73.5.

VCU was terrible from 3 yesterday, shooting 4-20. Guard Max Shulga put the team on his back yesterday going for 25 points on 10-11 shooting. With a trip to the big dance on the line, I expect another big day from Shulga. Going with VCU -1.5.

Went 0-2 on Sunday and 2-3 for the weekend. Looking ahead to Thursday. Plenty of time to find a few winners.

Looking at one play for today. In 3 of their last 4 tournament appearances, Virginia has lost in the opening round. It's been 5 years since their national title run and the last two appearances they were beaten by 13 seeds. This is a team that quietly finished 3rd in the ACC and their slow paced play and smothering defense will be tough for a team that hasn't seen it. This is mostly just a gut-instinct play because i think the Mountain West was overrated, but I'm taking Virginia +2.5.

Gone 2-4 on my last 6 plays. Going to try to take it slow this opening round. I usually get carried away and bet way too many games. Gonna start the day with Mississippi State +1.5 vs Michigan State. They played well in the SEC tournament and I hope it carries over to today. These teams appear pretty even and are very good defensively. I expect a low scoring game and hopefully the Bulldogs pull away late.

Drop to 2-5 with the Mississippi State loss. We'll keep grinding though. Next up in the Illinois vs Morehead State game taking guard Riley Minix over 19.5 points. He's Moreheads best player and has gone over 20 points in 12 of their last 13 so we'll see what happens.

Minix goes for 27 for another win for us. Improve to 3-5. Going with one last play for tonight. For Texas Tech it appears that Washington and Williams will play tonight. For NC State, I'm not sold on their big run to the ACC tournament title. They struggled to get by a bad louisville team and were gifted a melt down by Virginia.  If Tech is completely healthy then they are the much better team. Taking Texas Tech -4.5.

Drop to 2-6 after that awful showing by Texas tech last night. For the early Friday games I've got one lean I'll play. San Diego State tends to start slow and really find their momentum in the 2nd half. I don't know if UAB can win outright, but I like them getting points in the first half.  So first play today will be UAB 1st half +3.5.

Posted my record wrong. It's actually 3-6, not that it really matters right now. Looking to the afternoon games, I'm going to jump aboard the New Mexico bandwagon. This team is very talented and is peaking at the right time. New Mexico's guard play I great but I expect the big man JT Toppin to have a big game. He averaged 11 rebounds per game in their conference tournament and should be a tough match up for clemson. Going with new Mexico-2.5.
