So I’m a firm believer in middling bets live during games.
example yesterday, I had Memphis -1 at tip, had in my head that I wanted Michigan +10 live in order to middle it. Well at one point early in 2nd half, Memphis was up 15 and I could have got double digits on Michigan, but I didn’t pull the trigger. My thinking on holding off was Memphis D is stout, no way I thought they would let Michigan crawl back into that game. Sure enough, Michigan cut the lead down to 1 late in the game
lucky for me, Memphis pulled out the 4 point victory and I won the bet, but missed out on a great doubling up chance.
Do you always middle when your bet gets way up, or do you just let it ride?

Not always, but often yes. Depends on whats happening in the game and what spread ive bet. On bigger spreads i go for middle more because its far more likely to get backdoored. I dont bet as much college bball as football but use the same strategy.
On a spread of only -1 with a huge lead i dont see the need to go for middle as you are more likely to negate your winnings.
Now say you have a bigger spread like Memphis -8 and they are up 17 and you can grab the other side +19 or something like that, i would probably take that. Would not try for a middle of anything less than 10 pts.

I thought same thing about negating my winnings, that’s why I laid off of taking Michigan + double digits. The game ended up going from what looked like a pretty easy win, to wanting to kick myself for not hitting that + double digits middle
