Also tough to predict Georgia Tech hitting 11 3's in 1 half when they average 8/game
The effort level by Miami is comical. They would rather be lost at sea than play with any sort of effort. I could put together a hilarious video montage of them standing and watching, setting no-contact 'screens,' taking horrible shots, missing layups etc. Dare I say, this is a product of NIL and how much money some of these kids are making (Miami was notoriously the first to put pay to play contracts on social media). The second the season goes a little bit south (and possibly well before), why put any effort into the small things when you are making 250k+(if not more) a year? To a college kid, that might as well be $100 million. Disclaimer: this is not any sort of commentary of if players should or shouldn't get paid: it's a commentary on what's naturally gonna happen when the leverage is on the side of 19 year old kids with play money (many of whom make considerably more than their coaches/teachers. Also a commentary on how the hapless NCAA botched the whole thing with no oversight, clarity, compliance enforcement, etc. They are already getting sued into oblivion)
