That's what happens when you live and die by the three point line like iowa state couldn't miss anything the whole game but somehow ku stayed in it because iowa state doesn't know how to defend. In overtime iowa state had no answer beause they couldn't hit the three beause thier legs were tired it was overtime that's the difference between an elite team and a average team. Ku has blance guys that can shoot outside slash and big boys down low that can post up all iowa state has is the the 3 point line. Withey had 3 fouls going into the second half all iowa state had to was throw it inside try and get him fouled out early but instead kept firing up threes

It's not the refs fault it's iowa states fault they choked can't win by living and dying at the three point line eventually it will get you

Even though iowa state played the game of thier life they shot out of thier crapper making a school record of threes 17 threes that is insane and ku still won beause they know how to finish. Its not the refs fault it's iowa state fault they can't defend if you shoot like that and hit 17 threes and all those free throws the game shouldn't have been close iowa state should have won by 8 or more but they can't defend simple as that

totally agree boys...the refs didnt lose this one...iowa state just  does not know how to close a game out!!!...dont blame the refs....thats the easy way out guys!!.......it was all iowa state's fault in this one!!....go back and watch the last minute of the game and tell me iowa state did not totally screw this one up!!!!...they let it slip away!

Gobigred apparently u didnt watch game cuz im pretty sure withey had like 7 fouls but they never called them on him. But to say iowa st choked is a joke. In overtime u can say that but did u really expect iowa st to get off the mat from that a ss raping by the refs. Everyone in that building knew game was over when ku forced ot. U gota give ku credit cuz they did make big time shots down stretch but even that shouldn't have been enough as iowa st did plenty to win that game. The refs blew two calls on that final drive. 1 it was a charge and 2 there was absolutely no foul on the ground. Elijah johnson woulda been the goat if not for the refs for driving in out of control that was not called. But to say they choked is just laughable. They answered the bell from every ku run and came up big down stretch and game was stolen from them. Not to mention kansas players hand was out of bounds bfor that last foul was called so actually thats three missed calls on final play. If that game is in kansas that is called a charge 100% of time in favor of kansas

Gobigred I have an issue with your thread also.  You said they died by the three in overtime.  Were you watching the game?  Iowa st drove to the basket and got fouled almost every possession.

If you read my thread you would see I said iowa state lives and died by three all game they did start to drive more in it but they did shoot some. Threes. Yes I watched the game didnt bet on it but I watched it great game ku deserved the win not a ku fun big Nebraska fan but ku deserved it.  They came back and knew how to finish that's what elite teams do

Yes iowa state couldn't finish that's why they lost has nothing to do with the refs. Refs are going to make bad calls there human happens in every game.  Do you know how many times I have seen that play happen this year in college games too many times to count.  Refs normally don't call a block/charge on that play last sec of the game is it wrong idk but it's been happening all year in games not just this game.  Yes the refs screwed up on withey he should have been fouled out earlier but there was also two horrible calls early ok withey that shouldn't have been fouls but that's how it goes refs make mistakes it happens all the time.  Iowa state was at home played the game of thier live hit a school record 17 threes and attempted 41 free throws yes iowa state choked they should have won by double digits with those stats.  It comes down to defense iowa state can't defend simple as that.  Anytime you make 17 threes and attempt 41 free throws you should win big especially at home but they didnt that's the difference between. An elite team and an average team.  Over the years of playing ball and coaching I've Learned refs don't decide games they will make bad calls and if you don't win you werent good enough  it's your own fault you should have hit one more three could have played better defense.   All iowa state had to do was play defense and they would have won but they don't know what defense is.  Ku knew how to finish down the stretch.  I'm not even a ku fan I'm a huge Nebraska fan I'm just sick of people that make excuses ref didnt cost the game. The refs silver spoon the jayhawks constantly, I've been watching it since college.  I'm not saying the games are rigged, but my god, it's so obvious.

What's surprising me is that KU is getting these calls on the road.  I've always believed that the home team is going to get the benefit of the doubt on a close call.  99% of the time if that game is at the Fieldhouse and KU is taking that charge in the final minute, it is going to be called a charge
