Wouldn't this be Self's 4th or 5th Elite 8 in 9 years at Kansas if he wins? Not sure I'd refer to him as a bad coach

When you see the smugness and marmy behavior firsthand you know. The whole rock chalk think is stupid. I usually dont like any of their players, its even worse than Duke. Geography has nothing to do with it, nor does jealousy. They are pretty good at basketball every year. No big deal.

He's had talent......but Sasha Kaun, Darnell Jackson, the Morris Twins, Thomas Robinson and Jeff Withey were all considered "projects"........none were super highly thought of recruits. Kaun and Jackson weren't supposed to get drafted and play in the NBA. The Morris' and Robinson certainly weren't projected to be lottery picks......they got better as a result of coaching. Certainly he has had a lot of talent, but part of the job of college head coach is securing talent.
Finally, calling Chalmers shot as "lucky" is a stretch and you then have to say whenever a player hits a big shot again Self then they were lucky as well......was Faroukmanesh "lucky" to hit the shot?
The guy has coached 9 years at Kansas......he's won the conference every year but one......he's been to four or five elite eight's, won a title and been to about 7 Sweet Sixteen's.....he's also won about 80% of the games he's coached.......he's not a bad coach. And.......he's defeated Roy, Cal, Matta, Drew and Pitino since he's been at Kansas......so I guess he won't be outcoached by any of them in the later rounds should they get there.
Now, I don't think he is the world's greatest game coach.....but in my opinion he is above average....he is usually good coming out of timeouts and is fantastic at taking advantage of two for one opportunities at the end of games and halves...
All of that said, I could NC State winning this game, they are playing good basketball right now and it wouldn't surprise me a bit. I can absolutely understand your play and don't disagree with it.......obviously, I hope you don't win your moneyline bet
Good luck this weekend

Didnt call Chalmers shot lucky, I said Self got lucky he hit it. Dont disagree with anything you said. I guess I just think his teams do have talent, but lose games they shouldnt (of course that happens to all coaches at some point). I put him and Roy Williams in the same category. Obviously they know bball and can recruit, but game time decisions are puzzling to me.
Anyways. Always appreciate you stopping by and giving your opinion. BOL to you as well

Havent decided if I can pull the trigger with the Badgers forced to shoot jumpers and hit them at a high percentage.

I think Self has a few more tricks in his bag than Roy.......Roy always did everything the same, still does. At least Self tries to adjust.
