I rarely post but I feel strongly about this topic.
I agree with the OP that college basketball during the regular season is close to unwatchable.25 turnovers, teams that shoot 60 percent as a team from the FT line, scoring droughts of 8-10 minutes are too common these days.I grew up in Virginia in the 80s and spent my time trying to decide who I hated more-Carolina or Duke.Back then every conference game was so much more meaningful. The crowds were better just because of the genuine excitement of the rivalries, both between the schools and between the players themselves.
But it's not anybodys' fault.High school players should always have the right to become a professional if somebody wants to pay them. It's really just a sad bi-product and I hate the fact that my interest has dissolved so much over the years because I feel like I've lost one of the sports I really was passionate about and always took some of the sting away after football season ends.
That being said-I still love the tournament.Especially the first two days. You just can't generate the emotion that comes from games like the Harvard upset last night or even the crumbling of Davidson in pro sports or even college football because it happens so fast. It's such a longshot really for almost all the teams in the tournament to win it, but every one of them thinks they can do it.Love watching it unfold.

Any profit is good profit, keep it up DOUBLE
True
I like having these games on in the back ground without having to sweat out a sloppy finish ...
The Basketball is so bad , it's a grind between bad teams , and who will force or f up worse

I just love how the NCAA/TV markets advertise this tourney on all the "huge upsets". They make such a huge deal when a higher seed wins. Hell half the time (as we degenerates know) the higher seed is the favorite. They might as well say, "Hey come watch this tourney and see all the upsets, that way we get more viewers and more advertisement money."
Don't get me wrong, I love March Maddness but all this David has beaten Goliath stuff that the announcers yell when a higher seed wins gets really old.
Now FGC, that's something no one expected. However, Oregon, Wichita St, and La Salle are solid teams and I'm not surprised to see them in the sweet 16, even though I didn't pick any of them.
I heard JT the Brick say the other night on sports talk radio that his upset special was #11 Minnesota over #6 UCLA. I was cracking up driving down the highway, yeah way to go out on a limb JT, picking the 11 seed who also happened to be the 3 point favorite!
