New Deal for the Hofstra Pride

Hofstra’s all-time great Speedy Claxton takes over the reins for the pride . 
Like a new lover, this team bubbles over with excitement. Even without  last year’s leading scorer and pre-season CAA selection, Jaylon Ray,   appearing as of yet, the pride’s new recruits  makes this edition very interesting .
The opener against Houston was a pleasant surprise. Hofstra had the cougars on the ropes for the first 36 minutes ,  then Claxton choose to shorten the game and take some time off the clock. As what happens many times , the Pride stopped what had given them a double digit lead in the 2nd half . Hence in defeat on O-T .

The 2nd game was more of the same , without the shortenng . A nice road win as underdog as Duquesne . 
Claxtons’s minions now visit Rick Pitiono’s Iona Gaels . Not sure how this game turns our in the win-lose column, but I am wagering that the total goes over stated 141 1/2.  This game should be closer to 150.  Unfortunately, I will have to until the  am for my book to open to place my wager.
