Look at the NBA. Take the top 2 at any position and except for Lebron and Dwight Howard(the two biggest freaks probably ever) and none of those guys are even in the top 5 of athletes at their positions.
Evan Turner is going to be a huge difference maker. If you want to roast him because he plays on a 5 deep team who's big man is 6'7 at a stretch then you are going to miss the boat.
John Wall on the other hand is playing with the most underrated player maybe in the history of me watching college basketball.
DEMARCUS COUSINS should be the no. 1 pick on bball ability. His decision making off the court is another thing entirely.
Sub John Wall for your generic above average point guard and Kentucky would win the natty championship. Instead people will be making excuses for them and call their loss a fluke.
It won't come tonight though, but they will lose next Saturday night.

re Evan Turner not athletic,

i will take gordon hayward over turner! the kid is only a sophmore! 6-9 and dribbles like a point guard, shoots like a shooting guard and has a great basketball iq. this kid reminds me of a young paul pierce

All the crying about LeBron and not one mention about Evan Turner???
The most overrated player in college basketball storms off the court without shaking hands and it's not mentioned??
He plays 40 mins a game.In the Big 10!! Soooo overrated.
A very good basketball IQ. Knows the game. Under control. Those instincts alone enable him to be very good in the Big ummm overrated 10.
Whoever makes him a lottery pick will just ensure themselves more losing years. He is far from a franchise player in the NBA. He would be much better being a 20-30 pick to a good franchise as a role player.
Has GREAT basketball instincts and a GREAT basketball IQ. Just not the athleticism needed to succeed in the NBA or elite of college basketball.
Anybody who thinks otherwise.
Congrats! You win dumbest thread of the year award.... Turner knocked down 31 points and hes over rated? Hes one of the top 5 players in the game and carried his team all year... Thanks for the laugh though.
For the record you are dead wrong and maybe you should get a overall sports IQ before you talk about Turners IQ.
You lose a bet on this game? lol

I have absolutely no problem with players not shaking hands after a game. Those that do are usually faking the sincerity anyway. OSU's final four dreams were just shattered and you expect them all to just forget about all that, put their emotions aside and act all friendly with the opposition. Athletes are competitive beings and all this hoopla over poor sportsmanship blah blah makes me sick.

I am guessing VV flunked out of OSU or ate some sand at the beach compliments of an OSU alumn ......never seen such a fucked up wrong assessment of a quality athlete

Exactly. I don't think this guy even knows what argument he is attempting to make. Is it that he is not a elite college basketball player? Or is it that Evan Turner will not an elite pro?

I'm saying his college stats are overblown based on playing 40 mins a game in a system where everything goes through him. Very solid player but not deserving of Player of the Year over Wall.
He won't be anything special in the NBA.
And I'm surprised at nobody reacting to him walking off the court without shaking hands but LeBron is villified when he did it. And it's even worse because the college tradition is lining up after every game.

I saw a prop yesterday before the game for Evan Turner. Total points+rebounds+assists +/- 38.
That is common for shitty players, huh. It was over easily. I can see this discussion at the time of the draft in a couple of months but posting trash about a player who just dropped 31 in a sweet sixteen game singlehandedly giving his team a chance to win is ill timed and classless.
