Took Dayton at -1.5 when it opened. Davidson isn't the same home threat that they've been is years past. If you're gonna lose to George Mason, Richmond, and Fordham at home, Dayton looks promising. I will admit -1.5 seems a little too good but willing to take my chances.

Wondering what you see in the under. Davidson's last 6 home games have been Under and 5 of their last 7 under, but their last two games were on the road and over. Dayton's last 8 games have gone over including 4 on the road which 3 of 4 have covered the over by double digits and the 4th covered the over by 9. I see a coin toss on the O/U with this one.
Line does seem fishy, but I'll take Dayton -2 right now 7-3-1 ATS on the road and Davidson 4-6 ATS at home.

Tough one here, Sac. Dayton's senior quartet (Kyle Davis, Cooke, Scochie, Pollard) is just so damn tough. Not always the prettiest team to watch, but they share the ball and play some of the best team-oriented defense you'll see anywhere in the country. To me, Darrell Davis is the real enigma. When his shooting touch is on from the outside, he gives the offense a perimeter dimension that the other guys can't really provide. Just a super-balanced team overall.
Davidson is, of course, the total opposite. It's all Gibbs/Aldridge all the time. They've searched high and low for a reliable 3rd option, but it just hasn't happened. The Icelandic freshman Gudmundsson has looked solid at times, but, like most freshman, he's inconsistent from game-to-game.
I see two major issues for Davidson tonight:
1) Kyle Davis' defense on Jack Gibbs. Davis is universally-regarded around the A10 as one of (if not the best) on-ball defenders in the league (Doug Brooks also comes to mind). Strong, quick, and smart. He's locked down some of the best scoring guards in the A10 for the last four seasons. I'm not sure if he'll guard Gibbs the whole way - and, of course, Gibbs is going to get his points - but it won't be easy. Dayton plays a modified pack-line and has really outstanding length on the perimeter to bother and contest every Gibbs jumper.
2) Davidson's depleted frontcourt. Magarity missed the last two games with a concussion and may miss tonight as well. His presence totally changes the Davidson interior defense as he's legit 7-footer and a very solid shot-blocker. Wildcats are already down 6'10 freshman Dusan Kovacevic, though they did just get Nathan Ekwu back last game. Really interesting matchup between the uber-versatile Kendall Pollard and Ekwu. If Magarity can't go, Davidson will have to lean on slow-footed stiff Andrew McCaulliffe, who stands little chance of keeping up with the smooth ball movement of the Dayton offense.
This is really a tremendous matchup on several months. Two outstanding tacticians in McKillop and Miller, as well as great individual matchups (Gibbs/Davis, Pollard/Aldridge).
I'll be sitting back and enjoying this one as a fan of both coaches and the A10 in general.
