Last Saturday, one of my very good friends and I drove down to Tampa from Gainesville to watch the Uconn/USF game since he had gotten tickets directly (front row) behind the UCONN bench with Calhoun's other family and friends. Only 40 tickets were alloted for this so I considered myself very fortunate for this opportunity. Around the 14-15 minute mark, Calhoun pulled his entire lineup (including Walker, Robinson, Dyson, Edwards) for the 2nd string. Initially this energized the Huskies but they were just as susceptible to lapses on defense as the first unit and USF opened a big lead. When ever the 2nd team did something good on the defensive end, Calhoun came down the bench to yell at Dyson and Robinson about thats how to do it and so forth. Neither of the players would even look at their coach. Although Walker eventually got back in the game Dyson, Edwards, + Robinson never touched the floor again and Dyson and Robinson pouted throughout the second half. I have never seen anything like this when a team was essentially playing a play-in game for the field of 65. I could not bet on this team w/o knowing whats going on in those players minds, amount of playing time they will receive, or what is the underlying reason for giving away the final game of the season. Please take it for whats its worth.

Not a single player that Calhoun inserted to replace Dyson or Robinson has the confidence to take an open jumper or drive to the hole through traffic. The only player that displayed a specific skill worth of playing time was hyphen( I called him hyphen b/c he had a hyphenated name) who hit 7 consecutive threes from the same spot in the halftime shoot around. It did not translate to his actual game action though.

Roy Williams does full, 5-person line changes and there are plenty of examples like Rick Stansbury (MSU) sitting leading-scorer Ravern Johnson against UK and Jay Wright (Nova) sitting Taylor King in this same tournament because of personal/behavioral issues.
I think UConn has dealt with too much having two different coaches and they can't score anywhere but in tradition.

Most sports analysts are now saying UConn won't make it to the big dance unless they do very well in this tournament. I'll take the Huskies today. I don't see them ending this season with their tails tucked between their legs.

I wouldn't bet UConn with your money . Problem with UConn is they are offensively challenged. The team can't hit an open jumper consistantly. BUT..they can bring the D. I'm not sure why this total keeps going up but I feel this game goes wayyyyy under....133.5 right now. I'm waiting for 134 and I'm pouncing.
GL with this game

Calhoun was sending a message to his team. He knows they could make a run in this BE tourney and he is too good of a coach not to have his team's best interest in mind. Huskies will rally behind the drama

I'm not on STJ nor UCONN but please someone tell me how they invest money on this game.
The talking heads also said that the play-in game was last game for everyone who uses that to determine their wager. Raise your hand and I will say that you are fighting a losing proposition.
I'm just putting out info...GL everyone.

The other side to this statement, especially with impressionable kids, is in the back of their minds if they miss a shot or make a bad play they'll be sitting along side Calhoun on the bence. It makes them play tight.
