Thank you gents , yeah - most wise men stay away from gambling for good reasons - Severe waste of time and money when you could be doing far more productive activities w Time & Money. If you are at a good place in life where you are reaching your goals and continue to learn new skills , financially set than wagering 5 bucks a pop for entertainment is fine. More gambling on a consistent basis with hard earned money is Very serious and Needs to be treated as such but most gamblers lie to themselves to support their addiction. Aristotle once said “ The hardest thing for a person to know is themselves” So true . Life is short and consider your goals as they relate to the future you desire for the life you want to live. I’ve been on this forum for over 20 years and I’ve seen so many leave because they had enough pain and lost time. Pretty depressing but so is losing considerable sums of money year after year with nothing to show for it . I try to help people , it brings me happiness . I tell young people if they want to have 250K/million all they need to do is open up a Fidelity.com account , pair it w their bank account , open a tax deferred Roth IRA in SPY or VOO ( solid mutual funds that track the biggest companies ) and put 20% of their paychecks or what ever they can - could be 25 bucks a week- Trued and true formula - Thriough compound interest (best 2 words in finance history) their money will double every 7.5 years (Fact check please ) After 25/30 years you will have a nice chunk of money w out a doubt. The more you sacrifice and invest in the S&P mutual funds the more your money will work for you. I think 250 a month will bring around 250K after 30 years. That beats the hell out of pissing it away on a fruitless addiction that you may be stuck in. Go to ChatGPT and type in what I just wrote than type in the horrors of gambling addiction and see which one suits you . Good luck and remember - Life is short and we are a product of what we think about. Good luck .

Man your post is exactly what i have written many times on this site. I have been gambling for 45 years and even i have won and lost during those years, all the time not spent with family, friends and pets(which you dont get alot of) you can never get back. I cant even count the holidays ruined because of having a losing day on those days. I always have said theres lots of things i wish i would have differently, but the biggest one is ever starting gambling, because its been a complete waste of time and money. Problem was i was raised in a restaurant with gamblers, union bosses, real mob guys, bookie etc etc, so that was a big part of my life. Seeing these guys driving the fancy cars and pockets full of cash, it was embedded in me to do the same. Truth is 95 percent of gamblers lose long term and thats a fact. That vig is so hard to over come. I tell young kids all the time, if you dont gamble and just put some money into a 401k every week, in 30-50 years you will have more money then you will know what to do with and you will have so much more then you could ever win gambling and thats a fact. I tell them to do that, and remember who told you that when your on the beach counting your money( i will be long gone by then). Thing is we all want that big cash now, its the ultimate high were all chasing.

Can you keep that life coaching stuff somewhere else? I mean, isn’t there a losing thread where you can give these life tips? This is a gambling forum — go to AA, talk to your peers, hit up GA or something. I’m just saying, I don’t think KC thread should be where we’re handing out life advice. There’s a minute left in the Wisconsin game
