I grew up on the west side of Chicago and I'm a little blunt- My generation and my life long friends never get thier feelings hurt, but I realize that this generation is a little softer... I'm sorry

Take whatever I say with a grain of salt please- I just see so much bullsh!t here and its hard not to call it out...Just an old man bitching

I'm from the Rockford area. I know what you're talking about. Just gotta let peeps make their own decisions when a line is posted by an op.

Different books fluctuate the numbers so much, you have zero idea what number he/she got unless you saw them punch the ticket. A majority of people on here are probably on locals which can change it even more...so don’t try to call out very respected covers cappers

Do to bookmaking charges in Chicago I have lifetimes bans at Arlington, Hawrthorne, Sportsmans (closed now) Maywood, Balmoral etc etc  etc. So i'd go to the Rockford OTB in the 90's, cause nobody knew my face there. I remember the first time I went there I bet a $100 quinella, the clerk printed it up the ticket and ran around showing everyone the ticket, like it was a huge bet? lol

I was on the phone with lawyers all morning.. I got some great news so when I got off the phone- I drank a bunch of shots of Kirkland Bourbon, small batch, aged 7 years, rated 94- and chased it with a Sam Smiths Tadcaster- I got really buzzed, then my wife feed me a bowl of homemade split pea with ham soup.. Straitened me right out, then I posted this apology... I did'nt think I was that rough on Eddy? 

 

Trust me, I just know nobody got +5 at that time...

Been in, and all around Chicago my whole life. We/they are a different breed. Not bad, just different. Used to love going to watch Da Bearz, and the Cubbies. Getting a bit rougher these days, so don't come in much now. Sounds like you've had a nice gambling career. Yeah, us older guys in the north are a bit tough minded! Be good!

Black Cannons was my first horse.. Ran a 108.0 for 6 at Sportsman's in 1980.. And that track was a bull ring so 1:08 is like 1:07 anywhere else

Nah, you weren't rough but you were very persistent on a topic that didn't really matter. Most people in here only use 1 book but like others, I use multiple books (casino, a local, offshore) and it's very, VERY possible for you to get some "impossible" lines due to some books having stale/non-updated lines like the rest of the market. an_lightsurprised

I've been hurtin peoples feeling every since I left Chicago...They other day a guy wanted to charge me $800 to install a hot water heater, I told him he "was out of his f-ing mind" and he told me he would never do business with me after I swore at him...lol there are some mature people here..I'm just talkin to the guys like Eddy who posts things like

LOL...damn man, that's an impressive resume.  I still hit Arlington every now and then since it's so close to where I live, but prefer to just sit at home and bet while watching TVG.  I am going there next week for the Pegasus Stakes, which is just an excuse to go drink and gamble.  I used to hit Maywood a lot in the early 90's because you only had to be 17 so it was something to do.  

It wouldn't shock me if we knew some of the same people, you never know.  My Dad grew up on the west side in the 60's, grandpa was a Chicago cop, great Uncle was running numbers for some connected people.  Had a lot of family in/around Cicero area.

Thats not the horse, but he was black...and big. I loved him.. I had a few others, I had one win a mile stake race on the Turf at Belmont At 20 something to one... The Hill Prince stake in 80 I believe, maybe 81

I grew up at the Chicago Tracks...You couldn't watch anything live back then..Only the replays on the Ed Connaughton racing show ch 44. I knew Dave Feldman, one day he let me make his picks in the Sun Times and I went 8-1..8 wins, 1 place... He gave me $100 the next day...That was my best day ever- anywhere..I got to know him because when I was little I sold peanuts in front of the clubhouse, and he stopped and talked everyday..
