Western Michigan (1-6) has played a brutal schedule so far this season. A lot was expected of Western Michigan coming into this season. They have all 5 starters back as well as other key contributors. This is a good spot for them to excel. Detroit is coming off an emotional win vs. St. Johns Monday night. I look for them to be flat tonight. Detroit will be one of the weakest opponents WMU has faced all season. That's saying a lot b/c Detroit has a solid basketball team. However, WMU has faced Iona, Gonzaga, Purdue, Colorado, Temple, and an underrated South Dakota State ball club. I'm confident Detroit would have lost 4-5 of those ball games as well. With all of that being said, I am a fan of Western Michigan in this spot. They are catching Detroit at just the right time and they are well rested. They haven't played a game since the last day of November. They have worked hard at practice and they are itching to play tonight. Western Michigan +5 1/2.....anyone with me??? |
