"We've been involved in Monmouth games several times this season and
have done quite well, including a win this past Tuesday over
Georgetown. But as we saw again yesterday, the Hoyas are an overvalued
basketball team. But Monmouth's wins over UCLA, USC, and Georgetown,
now give us value going against them, in my opinion. I like this team
as an underdog or short chalk, but laying double digits on the road? I
don't believe they're ready for that against a Big-10 squad. Yes,
Rutgers has looked lousy at times, but they have played a tough slate,
and did take a decent Wake Forest team to the wire a couple weeks ago.
Monmouth does struggle with their shot, ranked 250th in FG percentage,
and they are upside down on the glass. Rutgers' forward Deshawn Freeman
is out indefinitely (knee), but I expect others, like Corey Sanders,
Mike Williams, and DJ Foreman to pick up the slack. The Scarlet Knights
have taken care of business against the MAAC, covering five of six. I
expect them to hang the number today. "

I'm a Monmouth alum, and been to the Georgetown, Notre Dame and USC wins this year. This seems like a TON of points though. How can you pass up a big ten team at home gettting 10.5-11 points. Rutgers sucks, yes. But that's overrespecting Monmouth. Some of the lines on their games I don't get. I thought they were too low vs. UCLA, too high the first time vs. USC, the Georgetown game was fuc kin ridiculous. On what planet should we have been a 10.5 dog to them? There was a very good chance we could hang and maybe beat them...they lost to Radford this season. I like Rutgers here and their team total over 65 looks nice too. Monmouth wins but 10-11 is a lot.
