With this Niagara game, you have a team who struggled mightily against the press and the zone defense the first time they seen it less than a week ago. They adjusted well in the 2H and made a game out of it. They have revenge here, and this offense is better off against a zone defense rather than a man-to-man (which is why I went against them Friday). On Friday, Loyola was the team with revenge. This time, Niagara has that advantage, and it's immediate. The second time around conference, teams are going to be able to adjust to the Manhattan press, and Niagara has the guards to do so. Manhattan's second roady in three days and should get some settling for jump shots against an improving Niagara zone defense. Manhattan's been winning games b/c of their defense. Offense isn't that great, and if I think the defense is going to regress the second time around, then this is the start of that w/ a team that has revenge within the week.
The other game, taking a shot on a decent home court with a good offense that actually out-played Montana the first meeting this year in the 2H. Montana couldn't miss the 1H, shot 50+ percent from field, 60+ percent from three-point line. This Montana offense is far from world-beater material, continuing on roady, against revenge. Portland State played with Weber State at home, no reason to think they can't play with much lesser of an offense on the road in their second of a three game roady.
