The Field Bet

Hey guys,Every year before the tourney I take the field bet because it&#x27;s so much fun to root for. I love it when upsets happen to the big schools and a team moves on like Florida Gulf Coast a couple years ago or George Mason. It&#x27;s not about the money for me just love watching it. The bet I placed was $100-$10,000. Maybe i&#x27;ll get lucky and have some hedging opportunities. Is there any teams that you guys have your eyes on that you are impressed with this season that could spring a couple upsets. I don&#x27;t really get a chance to watch all of the teams but try as much as possible.

I&#x27;ve never watched them before but my friend is in love with Oakland. He keeps telling me to watch them because they are really big and athletic.

I looked at Oaklands schedule and they are 13-14 8-4 in the Horizon Conference. They have played on ridiculous non conference schedule. Why the hell did they schedule something like that lol.

@ Iowa State @ Michigan State @ Arizona @Pitt @Clemson @Maryland. The last 5 games were all in a row in 2 weeks. Did something happen to their building or something geez.

I like oakland big physical team, problem with them is I don&#x27;t think they travel the best. I imagine they could get up for a NCAA game but remains to be seen what level they could play at.

Waste of a bet. For a mid-major team to win the tournament it is next to impossible.  They have to win 6-7 games.  Winning 2-3 is possible. No way you can hedge as they will be double digit underdogs in the final four if they get there.  You have to ask yourself in "modern" basketball history, has a mid major team ever won an ncaa championship.

I love the field bet and these people who have posted don&#x27;t understand how it can make you money.  A field team doesn&#x27;t have to win it all, they just have to make it to roughly the elite 8.  From there you hedge.  At 100-1 odds you can find a way to make money.

Thanks for the follow ups guys. Sorry about the triple posts. I will look into UC Davis. I kinda have to disagree that its a waste. The odds are long but what if other teams in the same bracket to pull some upsets. If they meet each other in a certain round then it would be a good hedging chance.

I checked off in the paper the some teams that I would get. They are ok. I really wish Wyoming can get Larry Nance Jr back.

Wyoming, Boise State, Rhode Island, Davidson, St. Mary's CA (kinda shocked they are in the field 19-6. Tulsa, Temple (who I love) Yale, Ga Southern, La-Monroe, Western Kentucky, S. Houston St. S.F Austin, Oregon State, Alabama State, Utah State, Toledo, Evansville, Cent Michigan, Bowling Green,

So many more other conferences to with teams so I'm sure there are many more. We will see. Almost that time.
