Still in a rut. Same thing happened last week until Thursday arrived and started a nice 4-day stretch. Hopefully the same is true this week. VA Tech play locked in yesterday at the open and posted in my 2/8 thread...
Current Leans: NC State -4, Valpo-Cleveland State Over 131, Illinois +?, Iowa-Northwestern Over 144.5, Oregon +1, Florida Atlantic -1, Gonzaga -3, Tennessee State +11

Pretty solid, but I need the line to climb back to +11 before I play it.
What are you getting at out of curiosity? I just checked my book and saw it at +11 and from what you said in your last post I locked it in ASAP . Thank you and BOL!

I too like Minn at home and V Tech on the road. Did I read your picks right, those are the teams you chose right? Minn at a PK game and V Tech plus 6.5?

Both of my books are currently at 10.5, so 11 is my cutoff. This thing actually sat at 12.5 for a little while but I failed to take advantage.

i love ncst tonight...how strong are you on that one?
i am leanin VT's way too
It's square as hell, which is not my style, but I believe NC State is a team entirely based on motivation. When they want to play, as was the case @ Wake and in some other impressive games, they're probably the 4th-best team in the ACC. At other times, as was the case in the first GTech meeting, they're gross to watch.
In the first meeting, Georgia Tech hit 9/15 threes. Very strange showing for a team 269th in the country in 3pt percentage. It also helps that the Jackets have no real home court this year. This is basically a must-win for NC State to stay in the at-large hunt, so the effort should be there.

Correct. Always the team with the number next to it.

I'm taking Hawaii, but do not discount the importance of losing Trevor Wiseman. He's the consummate glue guy/hustle player and, as this article points out, it's difficult to gauge how the team plays in his absence.

Agree on limiting. I threw out a few of my leans.
I guess I don't have a technical answer for your question, but because I play a lot of "spots," this is a play that kinda has to be made. Prior to the OT win at Duke, the 'Canes played an OT thriller at home with Maryland. Couple those consecutive wins with a massive trip to Tallahassee on Saturday, and I think we get a sub-par effort tonight. The best matchup case I can make for VA Tech is that they do an outstanding job of defending the 3-point line (#1 in the country). Great guard pressure and an ability to force turnovers. Of course, Reggie Johnson might destroy them inside, but it's a chance I'm willing to take.
