Hit my one plays yesterday (will be keeping track of 2nd half plays seperately) with Yale losing by 9 in a very high scoring game and covering the 13 I got the spread at and the 11-12 most got it at as well....
Had to get one early play in before I head to a meeting, it will be my first over/under of the year
VCU vs Houston (Puerto Rico Shootout) OVER 142 for 1 unit
These same two teams met last year with VCU winning 102-84 in an extremely high tempo game and I don't see any reason why this won't change this year. Both teams return their entire perimeter game basically here and this is a match up of two of the best back courts in the country to be honest with you. VCU is led by Eric Maynor probably the best mid major player in the country and James Schuller who can really light it up from the outside. Houston counters with McKeifer and Larry who both return to an outstanding Cougar back court and they even added a tremendous freshman in the backcourt who was rated one of the top seniors in Texas last year. Look for this game to be a 85-82 type game...

This is a very interesting early season match up pitting two teams who should be on the rise this season and both should make the NCAA tourney something neither has doen in a while.
Oliver Purnell has his best team since he arrived four years ago this year and I really think this team is a true sleeper to win the ACC.Four starters plus their sixth man return from last year’s squad.Add to that a five star PG recruit to run the team in Deomontez Stitt, last year’s Mr. Basketball in North Carolina and you have a loaded team capable of making a run at the ACC.Forward Jared Mays was contemplating turning pro at year’s end however his decision to stay at Clemson has made Tiger fans ecstatic.He will team up with Trevor Booker down low to form a good one-two punch.KC Rivers and Cliff Hammonds will team up with freshman Stitt to make a very talented 3 guard backcourt.Rivers is an excellent outside shooter while Hammonds has a nose for the basket and can score in bunches.
Miss State is led by one of the best inside-outside combos in the SEC in Charles Rogers and Jamont Gordon. The key to how this team fares rests deeply in these two's laps. Rogers is a streaky player who must play consistantly all year long while Gordon is one of the best G/F combos in the SEC who is NBA ready now. State adds Brian Johnson a tall/talented transfer from Louisville and also returns Ben Hansborough (Tyler's brother) to give this team some solid support.
I really like this Clemson team this year. They have an experienced talented team that I think can impose their will both at home and on the road. The Tigers will not be initimidated playing in Miss here and should play well. Clemson has a better combination of outside and inside scoring and should win this one SU. The only thing keeping me from making this a higher unit play is that they will be starting a true freshman PG playing in his first true road game.

Notheastern returns their best player from last year and should keep this one within shouting distance.....look for the Terps to win this one by 8-14 points....

disagree....I think the Terps aren't that good this year and it will start to show......Northeastern isn't a bad team and should keep it within 17 points

This spread opened up at 17.5 and has dropped to what it is right now at 16. I suspect it might drop a .5-1 point more but that is it. W&M is a solid disciplined team who doesn't make many mistakes. They return four starters from a surprisingly successful year last year and will be led by an all CAA ROY selection last year guard David Schneider. Also returning are Mike Mann as the team's off guard and Laimis Kisielius the teams versatile foward. All three of these players had good games in the team's hard fought loss to G'town. The final score of 68-53 really doesn't tell how close the game really was. The Tribe were only trailing the Hoyas by 2 points with ten minutes to play.
There is no doubt that NC State is going to be really good this year, maybe the best they have been in quite sometime. The country will be introduced to freshman sensation JJ HIckson tonight and he will team up with Brandon Coustner and Ben McCauley to form a front line that is as talented as any. NC Sate did suffer a big loss to graduation in Atsur but still should be tough.
My logic here is you have a solid team from a good mid major conference in the CAA that doesn't seem to make mistakes which will be key traveling to an ACC foe. W&M has already played a National Championship contender in G'town and played toe to toe with them for basically 35 mintes. NC State will be a huge challenge but I don't think the Wolfpack are on the same level as the Hoyas yet. Look for W&M to keep this game within 8-13 points.
