What is this big fascination with Twitter? Does it do anything for these guys that tweet their  plays? I just dont get it.Is it a wannabee Tout thing?

also a little easier to only follow who you want.  a little less craziness.

it is a tout thing. they can seel their plays to a following that they have already developed here or at other sites. This way they do not have to start their own website and go to that expense. The pattern is that you start on covers, hope you get hot and get a following. then you get all pissy because a couple of people bashed you and cry like a little baby and say that you can not stand all of the negativity anymore. then you go to twitter (hoping to stay hot) and after a short time say that it is too much work to do this anymore without charging for it. You then start charging people and then eventually get cold and piss your fanbase off. They stop following and then you come back to covers again under a different name and attempt to start the whole thing over again

Thats what i thought.  Just dont get it, been doing this garbage for 25 years now and have had positive years for 14 years straight and never really thought of going tout. I guess im old school...I figure if I win enough money every year to go on vaca and do some extra things with the family without dipping into my pocket, thats all I really need.

i never understood touts-- if your plays are that solid, then you should be betting them, not strangers-- putting locals out of business and such---

A tout is merely a person hitting a hot run, and looking to take advantage of sheep before they inevitably begin to regress to the means. They look to take advantage of the sheep because they know they can't possibly consistently hit at the rate they were, and they don't have confidence in their own picks.

The 3 biggest losers on covers are RazorSharps, kn0wn, and MGM_grnd. I picked these 3 off from the very beginning. They come here, hit a hot run, say people are "bashing" them and they want to go to twitter, then start charging.

Who ever would follow/pay for these guys picks are absolutely useless. I wouldn't tail someone unless I had at least 3 seasons/years of documented proof.

Guys like BEE, Stuckey, JimmyDaFreak, TREE88, amd, etc. have been consistently posting winners for years, but you don't see them going tout. This is because they know they're good cappers, they actually put money on their plays, and they make far more wagering on their plays then charging for them.

 IMO twitter is a stepping stone to going tout regarding sports. most others use twitter for attention. a small percentage may use it for business or what not. either way, its not for me.

BTW, what happened to BEE?

I always enjoy when someone new starts posting and hits a little hot streak and then out of nowhere a bunch of other new members start posting in their threads telling them how great they are. 

Creating aliases to give the impression that a bunch of people are following you because you're such a great capper.

stuckey , big east, nuggs are all on twitter, nropp too. They aren't touts. I don't see anything wrong with posting on twitter.

I called them out after the 1st week.. i can smell a tout coming from a mile away.. and you are correct. why charge for picks when you can bet them and make money..

You can just tell how someone carries themselves, how they post, how they speak, their demeanor, etc. which will allow you to realize what their intentions are. It was obvious from the start that guys like Stuckey, BEE, nropp, si1ly etc never had any intentions of going tout. Just like tin, I can pick off a tout from a mile away. I called NoFumbles out for months and he denied going tout, then all of a sudden he goes tout and brags about his 63% record playing -250 soccer lines.

Twitter is easier to post and for followers, to follow.  Nothing more, nothing less.  And people use Twitter for other reasons as well.  For the millions who use facebook, millions use twitter.


If Covers was ran better  -  you'd probably still have people who went solely to Twitter, post here as well.


There's a difference with people who've been here for years posting plays -vs- 2012 created members blabbing out their twitter.

I know for me, twitter makes it easier to follow the cappers I enjoy following. Playing devils advocate, everyone on covers tries to make a name for themselves. Instead of everyone posting their picks with no analysis, there should be more conversational threads.

YOU WANNA KNOW WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE TO GO THE OTHER ROUTE TAKE A LOOK IN MY LAST 3 THREADS IN CBB. THE SITE ALLOWS TROLLS TO JUST KEEP HARASSING PEOPLE DAY IN AND DAY OUT AND THEN WHEN PEOPLE DECIDE NOT TO BE APART OF THIS SITE NO LONGER CAUSE OF THE BULL CRAP DAILY THAT IS ALLOWED BY STUPID friggin KIDS IN HERE DAY IN AND DAY OUT IT ALMOST MAKES YOU SCRATCH YOUR HEAD AS TO WHY AND WHAT THE MODS ARE LOOKING AT.
