5-3 yesterday.
Virginia -1
This is only the second time NC St has hit the road this year, and first time in conference. Virginias offense isn't a world beater by any means, but in the matchup vs the Pack, they are going to get a lot of open looks from 3, which is where this Cavs team needs to score from to find success. The defense is still tough, and should only get better as they adjust to life without Coach Bennett, and I think they close up in the interior and force a bad jump shooting team to make jump shots on the road.
Kansas -13.5
First off, the Mountaineers are going to be without Tucker DeVries. Second, their flight got delayed and they didn't get into Lawrence until about 2am this morning. Now they have to play at 1pm, in one of the toughest places in the country to play, and its only their second time away from home. This has blowout city written all over it.
Seton Hall +9.5
Two teams desperate for a conference win, should produce a well fought game by both sides. The Pirates aren't very good, but Coach Holloway has a bunch of guys that don't quit. Xavier will again be without Freemantle who is the Muskeateers straw that stirs the drink. SHU defense is good enough to keep them within 10, they will just need a couple jump shots to go down.
Texas Tech -13.5
UCF hits the road for the very first time, and they have been playing for almost 2 months. Awful scheduling job by Dawkins and their AD, and it's gonna cost them in conference today. The Knights haven't played in 10 days, no have to hit the road for the first time, in what KenPom has as the hardest place to play as an opponent?? Not to mention, they host KU next. Toppin and Federiko are back for the Raiders too. Terrible spot for UCF.
Duquesne +2
This line makes very VERY little sense to me, which is why I'm playing it. On no planet should RI only be a basket favorite against this Dukes squad, but they are today. Now, this is only the second time that RI has hit the road, and the last time they did, they lost to Brown in OT. They also haven't played in 10 days, while the Dukes just played a couple days ago. The line stinks like hell, and I'm siding with Vegas on this one.
St. Bonnie +2
Neither team really tested themselves in the non-con, so numbers are a little skewed, but Bonnies at home have won every game by double digits and VCU only away game was a loss at New Mexico. Bonnies have a bit of homecourt advantage, and are the better coached team in my opinion. I'll take a good team, at home, as a dog.
North Texas -6
UAB isn't having a year they thought they would have. They've played one away game thus far, and it was a loss at High Point. Now they get a Mean Green team that defends the hell out of the basketball, and although they do struggle with things on offense, UAB isn't defending anyone this year. I'll always side with the team that defends, even if the offense can get sluggish at times.
That's it for day games. I'll be back before evening games jump.
