No offense but the talent on this team is nowhere close to the 2019 team which had a couple NBA players on it.
tournament just started bro. We’ll see what happens. I haven’t even officially posted the rest of my tournament plays yet. While this one is officially over I know there are better plays for me to wage the next 3 days.
The landscape of college basketball has completely changed though with the transfer portal, NIL, teams being able to buy bids and seeding now apparently. I’m not sure how much we can compare previous mountain west failures to present day, given how drastic everything has changed. San Diego St in first real season of bastardized basketball under new format went to the final 4. I’m not going to blind fade anyone. Just going with who I think is the best team, and let the chips fall where they may. You saw Colorado St an all senior lead team have a lot of composure tonight. Virginia sucks, but also had a ton of inexperience (and talent, but whatever). So there is different variables to weight as well.
I have to blame Tony Bennett for tonight dismal performance. There is no excuse for him to have his team produce only 14 points in the first half let alone go scoreless for 10 minutes. Inexcusable.. at some point you draw up a play that gets you to the foul line or you free up one of your player to a open shot. For a program of that caliber there’s just no excuse especially when the committee has given you a last chance to prove yourself.
