I can't say I agree that this is a POY type game but you're certainly getting great value with Memphis.

The logic behind taking Memphis?.......partly because everyone else is on S Miss, which is always a bad omen.

All I know is I have played Southern Miss a few times over the years against Memphis and Memphis destroyed them time after time.

It's in their heads. One day they will beat Memphis. And I won't be on them when they do

A couple questions:

1.  Are your POY picks usually only 2* your normal size bets?  Not a professional here, but most POY picks I would guess are more then 2*?  If I'm off base, please correct me.

2.  Also, I am curious why Memphis deserves POY status on the road with a somewhat short line?  S Miss is pretty good at home and the last 5 or so of these games have been tight/close since Calipari left.  It just seems from my viewpoint that other C-USA teams are catching up with Memphis post Calipari era.  

Memphis best road win appears to be @ Miami this year and I believe Miami was missing some key players then.  My thoughts were the good teams in C-USA would be circling Memphis at home as GOY type events like UCF did.

It is always great advice to tail with caution BUT could you elaborate on which of his plays are "public plays".....here are the numbers I see:


10* Memphis +3   (38%)

5* St. Joseph's +2  (32%)

5* Georgia +1.5   (41%)

3* Northeastern +4.5  (35%)

3* Rice -5  (64%)

2* St. John's +3.5  (41%)

2* Miami FL -10 (36%)

1* Miami OH -8  (58%)


The only plays that I see that would be even remotely considered public plays would be Miami (oh)...hardly a marquee name or Rice...better known for football IMO.

He has had this game circled for a long time...and it appears that the value on Memphis hasn't subsided or else it may have been a no play....like it was a couple of days ago with Alabama St??..(I think)

He looks at the schedule way before most of us do and circles games were if things go according to plan he will get perceived value. The next one is February 11th. Do I know who it is? No...will I look to see who he thinks it is and judge accordingly? Certainly. NRopp has more knowledge than most of us dream to have.
