 If it were spelled “intestirne”, then it would rhyme with Northwestern, but clearly, INTESTINE and NORTHWESTERN do not rhyme.  Unless you speak with a Pennsylvanian accent or a Bostonian accent and your “r’s” are either lazily annunciated or omitted all together.   

Are they phonically similar?  Yes, do they rhyme?  No.

Or, let’s just remove the “r” from Northwestern and spell it: “Northwesten” or “Northwestin” OR, “Northweston” and THEN, and ONLY THEN would it rhyme with Intestine.  

If anyone truly thinks NorthwesteRn rhymes with Intestine, then you’re an idiot.   

As someone mentioned earlier, Stetson rhymes with Intestine.
