Why is San Diego State a 5 seed….

When every other Mountain West team is seeded on the 8-10 line!!!? Makes zero sense to me. Just venting here. The committee botched seeding so bad this year. Can’t recall a worse job by the committee over my 20 years of following this sport since I was a kid. St. John’s is 44 spots higher on kenpom than Virginia 

All this means is there will be even more chaos. 

I guess that is why St John's (Pitino) turned down an NIT bid. Opening the tournament to more teams might help deserving schools but not seeding so much.

Love your hot take. Do you feel it is justified that Wake Forrest miss the tourney? They play in the toughest (or at least one of the toughest) leagues and apparently getting passed over because they lost in the second round. Kansas loses in the first round that they played and get rewarded with a 4 seed. Help me make it make sense. That being said I agree with what you said about the very very very overrated Aztecs (dude so what you made the championship game last year - you are not the same team this year clearly).

Gonna be some upsets.  More than usual maybe?

They still gotta play UAB in their first game... not exactly an easy first round game.

The Mountain West has a CBS contract. No way they deserve 6 teams in the dance. The SEC nor BIG 10 doesn’t deserve 8 teams. The best team is in the Big East.

Yes I did. I compared the circumstances of losing in the second round of their respective conference tournaments.  The level of toxicity on this site sometimes astounds me. Let me say something simple enough for you to understand... I asked for the OP opinion. Not yours and certainly not davemsh's. If I wanted your opinion I would have asked for it.

SDSU graduate here KC. I fully understand your point regarding their seeding this year, but it looks like to me that they think this team is close to last year’s team AND THEY ARE NOT. More than likely they get bounced in the first game VS UAB. They lost 3/4 of last years team. GL to you .

Wake Forest??? Any quality win they had was at home. Their body of work is horrific. 

If the tourney was played in Lawrence Joel I would say sure give them a bid, but once they leave Winston Salem it’s a wrap.

I think they kept Wake Forest out because their fans stormed the court as 2.5 point FAVORITES.  And thus created a week long narrative of why court storming should be banned.  And instead of actually shaming a teams fan base for storming a game you’re expected to win.

Wrong guy. You are thinking of jezhead. But you make fair points about their road woes. I was just impressed with how they played as a whole. Plus the 5/6 ACC better than the 5/6 MW team IMO.

 KU’s top two players did not play in that game. It’s easy to overlook the fact Self sat them to get healthy for the tourney. 

Recency bias from last year.  Not much separates SDSU from Colorado St and Boise St who are in the play-in games.  UAB is no joke, but I think they are a good matchup for SDSU.  The talent gap in NCAAB from top to bottom shrinks every year.  You just got to get into the tournament and not worry about seeding too much.

 I think you are wrong about your school. They aren’t as good as last year, but Ladee and co.  will kill a soft uab team in the paint. They will slow it down and manhandle them

I hope you are right the matchup with UAB, but SDSU is famous for going out EARLY in most NCAA tournament games EXCEPT for last year when they got on a hot run. GL this year in the tournament.???
